Friends of Bolnore Village Primary School (UK, 1167442) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

The Friends of Bolnore Village Primary School is made up of enthusiastic parents and staff who work together to create fundraising & social events that raise much needed funds to further enhance our children's learning experiences and enrichment opportunities at school.  Like many others, our school’s  budget is struggling due to the current Government budget cuts and funding formula proposals. In light of this, the Governors have asked for our financial help towards  the provision of Forest School & Music. These are both areas of the curriculum which the school  would struggle to continue operating in their current unique and successful manner without your support. It is very  likely that we will be asked to support these and other essential curriculum areas for the foreseeable future.  So, more than ever before,  the fundraising by FoBVPS and the parents/community who support our events are making a real difference.  Every donation is appreciated,  no matter how big or small and directly benefits the children at the school. If you would like to support the school, you can make a one off donation or set up a regular monthly donation is this page.  A donation can be anonymous and the great thing is that as a charity we are also able to benefit from gift aid  e.g if you donate £5 we get the donation and an additional £1.25 in gift aid 😊.Alternatively, if you would like to set up your own fundrasing event,  do a sponsored activity or simply just raise funds for the school, then click on the 'create a fundraising page' or contact us and we can help set it up with you. With your support we have previously been delighted to be able fund the provision of  Forest School and Music, computers, iPads, educational workshops, sports & outdoor play equipment,  elf day classroom presents and much more.Thank you for visiting our BT Donate Page and your support.  Charity No: 1167442 Find out more Website http://www.bolnorevillage.w-sussex.sch.uk/friends-of-bvps Facebook https://www.facebook.com/FoBVPS/

The Calstock Parish Archive (UK, 1079507) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

Calstock Parish Archive is run entirely by volunteers and financed by grants from local bodies, donations and sales of publications based on the collections. Our volunteers are always ready to share their knowledge, enthusiasm and skills. We receive visitors and enquiries from all over the world and are delighted to help others in exploring our heritage. This engagement often adds to the collections and our own knowledge. In April 2019 we became the first community archive to achieve the Quality Mark awarded by Cornwall Record Office. Our parish forms part of the Cornish Mining Landscape World Heritage Site but has natural beauty so most visitors and many residents have little idea of the rich industrial and social heritage which surrounds them. Our aim is to collect as much information and record as many memories as we can before they are lost in order that we can conserve and pass on this knowledge for the enjoyment of our community, visitors, researchers and future generations. Calstock Parish Archive was created in 1985 as the result of a scheme to provide work for a number of people in an area of post-industrial depression. The resulting collection was safeguarded and enlarged by The Calstock Parish Archive Trust, registered as a charity in 1999. Shared accommodation at Calstock Village Hall became inadequate for working on the expanding collections, so the Archive moved to a dedicated room in the Tamar Valley Visitor Centre at Drakewalls in 2009. This room rapidly reached its capacity and the search began to find a larger but affordable space in which to properly care for and research the collections. We are moving (autumn 2019) to the disused mortuary chapel in nearby Albaston Cemetery which will provide storage facilities for the archive collections and flexible working space available to be hired by community groups. We need funds to carry out a staged development of our facilities and volunteers to help sustain this exemplary community archive.

Family Caring Trust (UK, XN73838) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Family Caring Trust has been a 'silent partner' in family and children’s services since 1986. We publish low-cost, evidence-based, easy to use programmes in kit form, which are used by community, voluntary and public sector services all over the UK and Ireland in their work with parents, young people and couples. Our programmes are valued because they take a common-sense approach which is respectful of both parents and children. The kit format makes life easier for busy professionals who can use them 'on the run' and for novice facilitators who can lean on the script, the DVD input and full instructions provided. This approach to universal provision has enabled over half a million people to experience our programmes since 1986. External evaluations of our parenting programmes have provided evidence of impact using a number of validated measures.  We also provide Initial Training in our programmes and have an OCN level 3 accredited programme available for those who don’t already have qualifications in work with parents.

Invisible Children (UK, 1128466) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Invisible Children uses the power of media to inspire young people to help end the longest running war in Africa. Our model has proven effective, and hundreds of thousands of people have been called to action through our films and the volunteers that tour them.   Our approach to humanitarian work is founded in the strength and intelligence of the Ugandan community. We learned early on it was not only important but essential to heed the wisdom of people that had not only lived in the war, but were surviving it. People who would know better than anyone what the greatest needs were and the best ways to meet them.   What we came to find is that while there have been many efforts to address the issues that stem from living and fighting in such a long-lasting war, the people of Uganda are asking for a future beyond the conflict. Their pleas have become our development strategy.   All of our programming is a partnership between those of us at Invisible Children and those in the Ugandan community. We focus on long-term goals that enable children to take responsibility for their future and the future of their country. Our programs are carefully researched and developed initiatives that address the need for quality education, mentorships, the redevelopment of schools, resettlement from the camps, and financial stability.

FreyaBeya (UK, 1118186) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Freya was a beautiful little girl, born in 1999 with several life-limiting conditions. She was never expected to see her 1st birthday but she celebrated 5 birthdays, each one with a big noisy party in the garden.  She communicated in her own special way, mostly by touch and she had the most infectious giggle. Her gorgeous rose-bud lips were adorable and they framed a fabulous smile. She was a joy to spend time with and everyone who met her could not stop themselves falling in love with her. Freya died on the 14th December 2004, at home surrounded by lights, music, and her family. She leaves behind a fantastic big brother Tom and has left a huge gap in our lives, one that we will never fill. Freya loved music and it became a huge part of our life, it provided valuable therapy for her and always soothed her if she was in pain. In Freya’s memory I have set up a charity called FreyaBeya which raises money to enable special needs school to buy in live music. The Arts are sadly very much forgotten within the narrow constraints of the National Curriculum!  FreyaBeya gives total freedom to teachers to introduce children to ANY type of music, allowing it to be child-led rather than curriculum-led. THIS IS A HUGE PLUS!!  The music ranges from Soundabout-type stuff (resonance boards right through to high-tech sound beams) through to any type of genre, depending on what motivates the child. Thank you for supporting FreyaBeya   Sarah-Jayne -  Freya’s Mama.
