Oxford Homeless Pathways provides a range of services for people who have been homeless in the Oxfordshire area. Principally direct access, emergency accommodation for 56 homeless people aged 25+ at O'Hanlon House. Resettlement support and advice is given, to enable clients to move successfully to sustainable accommodation. Oxford Homeless Pathways also runs Julian Housing, a second stage move-on project providing 87 former homeless people with accommodation in dispersed housing with support. All money fundraised will go towards emergency welfare items and a variety of training, education and activities for homeless people.

We are a 17 bed night hostel, providing temporary accommodation for homeless people in North Hertfordshire. Residents are entitled to a hot evening meal, breakfast and a packed lunch. The hostel amenities include showers, washing and laundry facilities and TV room. North Herts Sanctuary also provides day services to help address the social and health needs of service users. Those using the shelter are assessed for issues such as drug and alcohol dependence, mental health and relationship problems. They are then provided with counselling, advice and a means of referral for treatment. Residents are also given help with regard to finding a permanent home and currently 85% of them move on to live in their own accommodation. They can still attend the Sanctuary on a daily basis for training and guidance sessions. Several have also become volunteers at the Sanctuary.

Above Us Only Sky? is a Christian charity which was started out of a need to try to find immediate solutions for those who are living rough on the streets. For many homeless people there is no other option and the conditions that they face are bleak. Above Us Only Sky? provides life-saving, military-style, all weather sleeping bags, capable of keeping someone warm and dry whatever the conditions may be. However, the sleeping bag is just the start; we offer support in other ways too, meeting not just their physical but also their spiritual needs, to show them God’s love and to treat them with respect and dignity. Many homeless people who have received an Above Us Only Sky? sleeping bag attest to the fact that it saved their life and restored their sanity. We continue to work with the recipients of our sleeping bags to find accommodation, work and a sense of community.
