SeeBeyondBorders is a non-profit social enterprise that aims to provide children in Cambodia with access to quality teaching and learning at school. We train Khmer primary teachers, develop school infrastructure and support local families trying to educate their children. Our vision is of Cambodian children empowered by education and our priority is to help communities help themselves by providing sustainable development. We offer direct participation in a number of projects in Cambodia where volunteers and teachers work together with local communities to help support and enrich one another’s lives. The school’s location makes it part of the Department of Education’s Remote Teaching Service where staff for the school are appointed through a merit selection process. It supports programs that provide equal access to facilities for our remote students that are available to students in major centres. This requires a focus on literacy skills, general health programs and the use of technology in teaching and learning.
