Angels Hope (as auspiced by Global Kids Charitable Trust Fund) (AU, 18982210626) Browse events

YTD Raised: $0.00

Angels Hope's mission is to promote awareness and combat bullying against children and young adults, and to prevent bullying related suicides in Australia by mentoring, educating and inspiring all children and young adults with the necessary life-long skills and courage to take action against becoming the victim of bullying in their schools, sporting clubs, workplaces and the broader community. was founded after we realized through a personal experience the effects of bullying can have on the victim, family and friends. This was a devastating experience and we realize there was a shortage of organizations in Australia that targeted bullying as a priority. This charity is auspiced by Global Kids Charitable Trust.Angels Hope is expanding at an alarming rate and currently we are reaching 50,000 people a week on Facebook (this does not include our web page which is currently receiving 750 visitors a week). What makes Angels Hope unique from other organizations is that we involve the whole community our mission is to deliver awareness, marketing resources and mentoring throughout Australia.  Our aim is to target Primary through to Grade 12 students, sporting organizations and workplaces and communities throughout Australia and New Zealand. Parents will also have the opportunity to become involved through social media. The senior schools will have a more detailed presentation and all students and staff will be encouraged to sign a pledge to say that they belong to an anti-bullying school and that they will support each other to learn in a safe environment (which is detrimental for one to be able to flourish, ‘ teachers and students’ so they can do their best in all teacher and learning areas).  Our total one stop anti bullying package consists of external reporting through our web page, a mobile app that enables each parent the opportunity to purchase .  Our internal system in schools gives the ownership back to students with our mentoring and accountability programs. All schools and sporting organizations need to be aware of bullying, as the effects across all socio economics areas in the broader community. This organisation is determined to get the message across of the devastating mental health issues that can be created by bullying. This project we anticipate to grow into one of the major anti bullying organizations in Australia. We will also encourage bystanders to actively get involved so they realize the effects it can have on the subconscious mind and how it can lead to depression, conversion disorder, eating disorder, and suicide along with other major health issues. The community need is high because the social, mental and physical problems associated with bullying are increasing daily.Financial costs to the health sector can be substantial and studies have been done that show up to 1 in 5 students bullied have a mental health issue either away or years later. In our work places it may cost approximately 15 Billion Dollars (information obtained from an article published in ‘The Australian’ January 2010) because of compensation claims, sickness and other mental disorders that are associated with bullying. The purpose of this program is that we believe all school children and athletes and those from the wider community will directly benefit. We believe that this will give them the courage and advice to act and deal with bullying.Let’s create generational change together and help to combat bullying in or communities.  Yours sincerely,  Reuben Cunningham  Co- Founder /Operations Manager.
