Australia is home to many refugees and migrants who have come from war-torn countries. They often help the families, friends and communities still living in those wars - by running human rights campaigns, encouraging the Australian government to protect civilians and provide aid, or by building schools, women's health centres, or running conflict resolution programs. The Humanitarian Crisis Hub supports this vital work by providing training and mentoring, and by facilitating linkages with relevant people or organisations who are interested in helping with their projects. Diaspora Action Australia has recently been awarded the 2011 ACFID Sir Ron Wilson Human Rights award, for outstanding contribution to advancing human rights in the international development sector. Diaspora Action Australia is based in Melbourne and relies strongly on volunteer support. Thank you for your support - your sponsorship will be put to good use!
