Kickstart Kids International is an Australian charitable organisation working with impoverished communities in sustainable ways to kickstart the lives of orphans and vulnerable children. Kickstart was founded in 2007 to support the establishment of Familia Moja Children’s Home in Kenya, which is now home to over 30 children. In 2011, a local Kenyan Non Government Organisation was formed to cover the financial contribution previously provided by Kickstart and has subsequently increased the number of children being cared for. This is a huge achievement towards kickstarting the lives of these beautiful children. The goal of Running for Shoes is to put shoes on village and impoverished children. It is our vision to enable as many of these children as possible to walk to school and live life in general with shoes on their feet. In 2013, we focussed on children in India and raised enough money to purchase shoes for 8,000 children. Our partners in India have told us stories of happiness as children receive their first ever pair of shoes and their amazement that people in Australia are running for them. It is not just these children who are astounded but their parents are brought to tears as their children receive these shoes. In 2014, we focussed on children in Ethiopia and in November 2015 a team from Australia will be travelling to our partner in Ethiopia to be a part of purchasing and distributing shoes to children there! This year, Running for Shoes will add children from one more region to our cause... Cambodia! Join us in running for shoes, supporting children in Cambodia! Check out our Facebook page for the most current information on how you can become a part of Running for Shoes!

Programs focus on health, nutrition, education and protection of disadvantaged women and children. Local women are empowered to be the center of change in their communities. CINI works in rural villages and inner city slums and reach children living on the streets, children of sex workers and children on the railways of Kolkata. Around one in twelve children in Australia have a disability. About half of these children are profoundly affected in their ability to undertake basic day-to-day activities. Disability not only affects a child’s health but every aspect of their life and experiences. In the early years of life, children with physical disabilities often struggle to achieve basic development goals such as rolling, sitting, crawling and taking those ever-so-important first steps. The mission of the Joanne Tubb Foundation is to improve the well-being of children through the support and promotion of paediatric training and skill development. The Joanne Tubb Foundation was founded by family and friends of Jo. As the Foundation continues to mature and grow, its mission will remain steadfast. Our mission: To support the development of services for children with physical and functional disabilities. To promote skill development and advanced training of health professionals (such as physiotherapists) working with children. To increase awareness of the importance of a child’s mobility, independence and function. The Joanne Tubb Foundation does not receive any government funding and relies solely on the generosity of community members.
