BDHRA is a charity which was formed 50 years ago to use horses and ponies as therapy to help to improve the co-ordination and health of mentally and physically handicapped children and adults. Riding helps to strengthen the limbs and the contact with the horses improves mood and many riders whom struggle to walk and are badly co- ordinated have the feeling of freedom and fun when riding. It takes 3 people to aid these riders, one leading and one either side and all these people are volunteers.
