For many who ever experience homelessness one of the biggest obstacles they must overcome is a loss of self-esteem. Emmaus provides people with a stable home and the opportunity to regain their self-worth, making a real contribution to their community. Research shows that for every £1 invested in a community, there is an £11 social, environmental and economic return, with savings to the benefits bill, health services and a reduction in crime reoffending.

The charity provides riding lessons, equine assisted therapy and horse care lessons to children and young people. A major focus is on children with a variety of special needs. Scottish football and the wider sporting community has given its full endorsement to what Kris is trying to achieve, many people have backed the Charity with their time, effort and donations. The foundations have been put down and we now look to keep growing. But we realise that with the ongoing challenges of Covid-19 this is going to be difficult. But we plan to tackle everything head on, expand and offer more services, whether its helping to raise Mental Health awareness and also with increase Partnerships and Relationships with other charities, as well as well as businesses and support groups. What do Samaritans do? We listen to people who are in distress. It's that simple. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week there is always someone there to listen to our callers. Samaritans of Exeter, Mid and East Devon was contacted over 42,000 times in 2012. This costs about £40K per year. Please help.
