We aim to cater for children who either have a diagnosis of Autism or who have been identified as having developmental delay including GDD, PDD-NOS, specific language disorders and/ or speech delay. We aim to become a leading provider of intensive early educational intervention in Scotland, and begin to raise awareness of the importance of early identification and early support for children and their families. We provide a range of services including home based programmes, parent training, training for early years professionals and small group therapy classes. We have been up and running now for a year and are almost completely reliant on donations and fundraising. Please help us to keep going! We do a really good job- just ask our children!

(UK, 512912) Browse eventsThe Alan Shearer Foundation launched on the 31 May 2012, with the aim of supporting disability in the North East. For many disabled children and adults the facilities are there but not for them many supposedly inclusive environments provide access but fall short on participation or are just too expensive for the whole family to join in. Providing young disabled people with ordinary leisure experiences should not be a luxury, it should be a given. Our purpose We aim to raise at least £250,000 every year to help thousands of disabled people throughout the North East. In doing so we aim to: Offer a number of free and subsidised short breaks at the Alan Shearer Short Break Centre Continue to support and further develop the free facilities of the adjoining Alan Shearer Activity Centre Enable St Cuthberts Care to expand its disability provision across the North East

We have made a good start and raised £8,000 so far but need help raising more funds. The new room we would like to build will be called ‘The Valley Room’ and will be a multi-use learning space but it will predominately be used for music lessons, the Breakfast and After School Club and 1:1 learning which is so important for the children. Currently music lessons and 1:1 learning can happen in far from ideal locations such as in corridors or meeting rooms. This room will also be used by the local community too during non-school time by holiday and music clubs and so it will not just benefit the School children but the wider community too.
