Biddulph CAB has been serving the former mining community of Biddulph for over 25 years. Our dedicated and highly trained team of staff and volunteers provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. We aim to provide the advice people need for the problems they face in areas like debt, benefits, employment, housing and consumer; last year we helped more than 1,300 people with over 5,500 different problems, with many receiving specialist advice in debt and welfare rights. Equally important is our aim to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives by collecting evidence and campaigning for change. We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination. The contribution made by our volunteers aged between 19 and 79 is vital; coming from all walks of life and bringing a wide range of experience plus enthusiasm and energy, they underpin all that we do. We know that the lives of many of our clients are changed for the better by the help and support received from the volunteers. What is less well known is that volunteering at CAB can be a life changing experience too, a fact with which many of our volunteers will agree.

Sight Service is the leading local provider of services and support for people who are visually impaired and live in Gateshead or South Tyneside. Our advice, information and support can enable visually impaired people to have the quality of life which many sighted people take for granted. We also promote greater public awareness of sight loss and work towards achieving better and more accessible public services for visually impaired people. We rely on our own fundraising effort for much of what we do. We have two charity shops, and also seek sponsorship from individuals and businesses. We urgently need volunteers to help in our work.

Inside Out - Wormwood Scrubs Community Chaplaincy Helping prisoners to return to a positive role in society Inside Out works towards building relationships with prisoners to support their successful return to the community. It is an interfaith based organization that complements and works alongside the voluntary and statutory agencies involved in resettlement within and outside the prison. The charity has no external financial support; the vast majority of the work is carried out by volunteers. In June this year, three amateur cyclists (Patrick Foster, Mike Preston and Henning Goranson-Sandberg) will attempt to cycle up Mount Ventoux not once, but three times within 24 hours. This iconic mountain is the ultimate test for cyclists in the Tour de France. Our 3 cyclists have put in many miles of training for the last 6 months in order to raise the money the charity needs to contine its work. The aim is to raise as much as possible towards the £60,000 needed to run the charity each year. Many thanks for your donation

By taking this risk, the Club secured the green space for sport and recreation for future generations. We are now actively fundraising to reach our campaign target so that we can maintain and develop these fabulous facilities. Thank you so much for your support. With your help, we can continue to provide and improve the fantastic sports facilities at the Club, which will benefit so many people in the local community for years to come.

Now I Eat seeks to provide relief among the young disadvantaged children in these countries. Our aim is to open future doors for these people in the world of work by improving their health and by providing them a decent education. Where Now I Eat differs from a lot of charities, is that we rely on volunteers keeping our costs to a minimum so that maximum benefit is received by the children. Annual Fund 2013 - 2014 Dancing in the Rain Just because Pate’s is an Outstanding School doesn’t mean we’re immune to revenue funding challenges. Government funding is down £110k next year and we have lost a further £155k from commercial partners and the Pate’s Foundation (which was so generous in recent years helping fund our new refectory). In total that reduces our income next year by about £265k. We will work hard to manage this ensuring that the core purpose of the school will not be affected. In our latest Ofsted Inspection (2013), we were categorised as “Outstanding” in all areas. The report comments ….. “The academy pays considerable attention to the wider personal development of students and the range of opportunities beyond the formal curriculum is exceptional.” We are determined that these opportunities do not lessen in any way through lack of resources. We know the storm is upon us; we can either sit and ride it out or we can seek your support and start Dancing in the Rain. With fantastic governor backing we have decided on the latter. We have always looked to our parents and alumni to help us provide the very best educational experience for our students. We are now in even greater need for our community to step up, dig deep, join those who are already supporting us and enable us to not only put up the umbrella but also to put on our dancing shoes. The Annual Fund 2013 – 2014, ‘Dancing in the Rain’, is vital to provide the extras that otherwise will be met with a sharp intake of breath and a shaking of the head. Please support us. Your children are worth every penny!

Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. The Poole Wau Partnership Charitable Trust (PWP) was set up in 2011 by the (Church of England) Poole Deanery to support the Archdiocese of Wau in the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, Africa. Our three main objectives are to:Promote religious life both through the development of partnerships between Wau and the Poole Deanery and through the provision of financial support for theological training and resources in Wau;Advance education through funding of teaching staff, providing educational materials, and constructing & maintaining educational establishments; andRelieve financial hardship (due to poverty, sickness, disability or old age) of working and retired clergy and lay workers. Please donate to support our cause.Since 2011 PWP has received over £130,000 from compassionate and generous individuals and Churches. We are using these donations to support Wau, a region in South Sudan - one of the world’s newest countries. Wau currently has considerable needs, partly due to famine and internal conflict. Our initial project was to fund the building of a guest house in Wau – to accommodate visitors and to provide a revenue stream for the Church in Wau. The guest house was completed in 2015 at a cost of around £55,000.Our current focus is on education, both spiritual and practical. We have contributed around £40,000 towards education, centred on St John’s college in Wau, but including provision for more specialised training elsewhere in the region. In 2016 we committed to support the permanent theological teaching staff in St John’s college for a further 3 years. We are also hoping to facilitate the sponsorship of business students at St John’s college. In addition to our main projects, we responded rapidly to the recent unrest in South Sudan by sending over £27,000 to the Church in Wau to provide much needed food for internally displaced people. All Saints Church Parochial Church Council (PCC) is responsible for the overall care and continued upkeep of All Saints' Church in the village of Longstanton, Cambridgeshire. All Saints' Church is a Grade I Listed building dating back to the middle of the 13th Century (1201-1300). The Church is currently in need of urgent modernisation and upgrading to meet the needs of its community in the 21st Century. The aim of our reordering project, whilst retaining the buildings' historical and spiritual relevance, is to transform the interior of the building by installing toilet, kitchen and a space for fellowship and meetings, all of which will be available for wider community use. We all know that raising funds for any project is a challenging task, especially in the current "austerity' environment". This is by far the biggest and most exciting challenge the church here in Longstanton has faced in its 875 years of being and we are now asking you, along with the wider community, to contribute to ensuring that it remains pivotal to the needs of the whole community for generations to come. The latest estimated cost of our re-ordering project is about £300.000.We will need your help. Can you help? Yes you can! Can you make a difference? Yes you can! You can help us make a difference to the Church and our community by contributing to the success of our re-ordering project.
