Plantsbrook School Parent Teacher Association (UK, 1040428) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Plantsbrook School PTA (now known as 'Friends of Plantsbrook School) raises valuable funds to support the school in giving young people meaningful learning experiences. We raise money for equipment and resources to enhance the facilities in school to enhance our childrens' education. Most importantly, we support students' own fundraising and enterprise activities. PTA funds are for the ‘extras’ not provided by the school budget, that make our children’s learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting. During the past two years we have successfully raised enough funds to provide a playground gazebo shelter and, through sponsorship raised at last year's Great Midlands Fun Run, have been able to name a new Guide Dog puppy, who will be called 'Brook'. This year we are again splitting the proceeds between PTA funds and our chosen charity for this year, the Cancer Support Centre in Sutton Coldfield.   High Street Methodist Church, Witney has launched a project to develop a Children and Young People Centre in Witney. The centre will enable a much needed expansion of existing services and will facilitate new service offerings across a wide age range, helping young people move from childhood to adulthood. High Street Methodist Church is already a prominent community building in the centre of Witney. Used by many people throughout the community it is already a hub for community events, a meeting place for community organisations and home for some local charities. Unknown by many, the church also owns the building behind the church that is between the church building and Hacketts. Used in recent years by the King's School as their senior school, it is now becoming vacant and we see this project as a way of revitalising that building and making it another community hub with a particular emphasis on children and young people.
