Spurgeon's College (UK, 1096721) Browse events

YTD Raised: £6,990.00

For over 150 years Spurgeon’s College has been helping people learn and equip themselves for their life’s mission as disciples of Jesus.   Our students are amazing people whose stories are inspirational. In preparing themselves for mission and ministry they knowingly take a sacrificial path. Many of them struggle to support their families and pay their fees. Many of them are not eligible for student loans. Some of them are simply unable to support themselves because of government regulations for student visas. We rely on the generous support of people like you because, unlike many higher education establishments, we do not receive any government funding. We are keen to keep our student fees as low as possible and we never want to turn anyone away from ministerial training because of lack of funds. Can you help us to continue to do this? Spurgeon's was founded by the great Victorian Baptist preacher, C H Spurgeon, to train pastors who were  ‘… hindered in their efforts to do good by the slenderness of their knowledge … the absence of a guide, their need of books, and their scanty time …’  Ten years later, the first Principal, George Rogers, concluded that the College was ‘… adapted to the real wants of the age’.  This remains our aim whether you want to prepare yourself for Christian ministry or purely to study the Bible and theology. Our courses include online learning (from single module to full degree), part-time and full time degree, masters and doctorate courses as well as counselling courses. You can also study with us if you are a school leaver or mature student wanting to study theology as an academic degree. We always have students from overseas studying with us. To send a gift to be used where the College needs it most, please use the donation buttons on this page. If you want to donate to one of our special appeals, use the links in the Find out more box to the left. During the donation process you will be asked if you will allow "charity marketing". If you would like to receive or continue to receive mailings (including The Record) from Spurgeon's College, please ALLOW charity marketing.
