As a charity we've launched a partnership with East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. Together, we will raise funds for local projects that will improve diagnosis and treatment for people with Cancer. The partnership is to launch a £400,000 appeal for a new Endoscopy Unit at Burnley General Hospital. The appeal will fund an endoscopy machine, treatment table, additional scopes, and monitors. It will enable a further 48 patients per week to be checked, diagnosed and possibly treated – that’s almost 2500 per year! The appeal will enable the Trust to expand its capacity for earlier diagnosis and treatment; improve local provision, providing specialist investigation near to people’s homes; and, increase their ability to treat the simplest cases at the point of examination.
