(UK, XT37322) Browse eventsSTAR International was founded by three friends in 2012 after many years of international volunteer service. While there are countless areas in need of assistance, our hearts lie with the children of Romania, especially those with special needs living in orphanages, group homes, or underprivileged communities. The quality of life of many of these individuals could be improved greatly with increased exposure to therapy. STAR International advocates not only for the importance of therapeutic interventions, but also for the rights of these children and young adults to receive them. Unfortunately, due to the current economic situation, access to resources is limited. We assist in providing resources needed to ensure the most successful therapeutic experiences possible, including training for caregivers in the skills needed to help those with disabilities reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.

(UK, 1035444) Browse eventsZinc (formerly Theatre Resource) is an amazing organisation. Straddling the arts, education, health and social care sectors, and using visual, media and performing arts, we provide a wide range of opportunities for disabled people and other socially-excluded groups. Our work allows participants to become involved in creativity, acquire new skills, gain qualifications and secure employment and supported employment within the arts and creative industries. Employing 46 people, Zinc is one of the larger disabled-led arts organisations in the UK and the only one to own and operate its own arts education centre. As we approach our 21st birthday, we have embarked on a major capital development which will see our centre in Essex expand to become a fully accessible residential education facility. This development will allow the organisation to expand the scope and range of its services and establish a world class centre of excellence for the development of arts education activities with and for disabled people, socially-excluded groups and the local community. 95% of the money required for this development has already been raised but there is still a little way to go to reach the £6.2million fundraising target for this project. Thank you for your support.

Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. Marston St Lawrence Village Hall will be 80 years old in 2019 and requires modernisation to bring it up to standards expected in the 21st Century. Please donate to support our cause. Next year the village hall will be 80-years old and it has been used by local people for dances, parties, exercise and all sorts of social activities over the years. Whilst the kitchen was modernised a few years ago, the main hall, games room and toilets are cold, tired and uninviting. So, what do we want to achieve for “The Next 80 Years”?We have consulted with the community and the feedback says we want better heating, comfort and a more attractive facility better suited for the 21st century and the whole community. From the consultation there were also many suggestions for additional activities and events. We have engaged a professional consultant to help us decide how to go about it. With the consultant’s advice we are planning tomake a massive improvement in insulationinstall new efficient and economical heating and lighting systemsinstall a new false ceilingprovide a new décor throughoutthus opening up the use of one of our few remaining community facilities to a far greater range of organisations and uses.
