Our priorities are: Poverty ReductionEducationHealth & NutritionEnvironmentalSustainable Livelihoods The aim of the High Five Club is to change lives, £5 at a time. We work with many inspiring communities in Africa that seek to achieve self-development. We support a diverse range of small-scale community owned projects that at the same time as reducing poverty contribute to wildlife conservation. Much of our work to date has been focused in Kenya, Zambia, Malawi and Uganda, although we also have projects in many other African countries. We join hands with local communities to build classrooms and train teachers, construct and equip rural health posts, develop income generating enterprises run by the rural poor, along with implementing food security and nutrition initiatives. Our funding is generated by compassionate individuals and corporate sponsors joining hands with us to help change lives in Africa for the better, £5 at a time. No matter how small your donation, funds go a long way in Africa when they hit the mark. 100% of an individual's donation to the High Five Club is guaranteed to be spent in the community on the ground in Africa - nothing is used for admin.

Our main purpose is 'the relief of poverty in Lesotho, specifically among those who are severely disadvantaged and infected or affected by HIV/Aids'. We support the operations of the Paballong Centre which has been fully equipped since 2007. The Centre now has a staff complement of 31 who provide voluntary counselling and testing, antiretroviral therapy, and the treatment of opportunistic diseases, including TB. Since 2008 all services have been provided for free. To date there have been some 31,000 visits by nearly 4,500 clients of whom 1,031 on ART. It has tested the HIV status of 2,153 people, provided 10,422 treatments for opportunistic diseases, and offered maternity and family planning programmes to 1,528 clients. Nearly 22,500 free lunches have been provided. Our group consists of Beavers (6-8yrs), Cubs (8-10yrs) and Scouts (10-14yrs) and is growing year on year. Our aim is to educate, guide and help develop young children within the global scouting programme which, includes activities such as outdoors, community, fitness, global, creative, beliefs and attitude. It is important for us to ensure there is a route for all children to join our membership and partake in the benefits the group can offer. This allows all children to participate in activities and attend trips away including camping etc. We feel the group allows children to develop and take responsibility for themselves and others to assist them in life as they develop into an adult. The group has members from various backgrounds and will help and support low income families to ensure their children are not discriminated against and can still enjoy all activities and education which the scout group offers. Please help us in fundraising to further enhance our group in areas of growth, equipment, activities and development.
