Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate.Heworth CE School are a small church school of up to 140 pupils with an active Friends of Heworth charity. We fundraise throughout the year to help provide those important ‘extras’ for the children that would not otherwise be provided by the school. In recent years our efforts have helped purchase musical instruments, sports equipment, film and photographic equipment as well as most recently, helping refurbish, fit out and stock the school library. Please donate to support our cause. The Friends of Heworth are raising money for the usual support to school activities but the big fundraising effort for this year 2017/18 is to provide an outdoor classroom for all pupils to benefit from. This will be a very exciting addition to the school and we appreciate all support and donations we get, thank you. Charity No: 1032312

(UK, CIO1171613) Browse eventsA men’s shed is a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden – a place where he feels at home and pursues practical interests with a high degree of autonomy. A men’s shed offers members a place to work on projects at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. A shed’s activities usually involve making or mending in wood (eg carpentry, joinery, turning, carving, whittling, marquetry, furniture renovation) but may include metalworking (milling, sheet metal, welding etc) bike repair, gardening, electronics, tool renovation, boat renovation, model engineering (model railways, planes) and even building a car! Reclamation, reuse and restoration will feature strongly – and some say that is true of the men too! Although sheds mostly attract older men, some have included men of any age, women and young people. Whichever activities are pursued the essence of a shed is not a building, which some don’t have, but the network of relationships between the members.

(UK, 296311) Browse eventsSOS Sahel UK is an international development charity that helps farmers and herders in the African drylands (the Sahel region encompassing East and West Africa) to overcome their poverty and vulnerability. Over the last 25 years, we have successfully brought African communities together to share their knowledge, protect their rights and regenerate the environment on which they depend for survival. In 2011, SOS Sahel seeks support for its peace-buildilng and poverty reduction activities in the Kordofan and Eastern regions of Sudan. Here is how your donation could help: £10 could buy a bucket irrigation kit to enable farmers to grow fruit and vegetables through drip-irrigation. Subsistence farming can improve a family’s diet and generate valuable income that can be spent on education for children. £25 could pay for a month-long training course for about 35 women to learn about health and nutrition, midwifery and sewing at a Women’s Development Centre. £50 could support community literacy training for 10 people for 1 year. Literacy skills develop confidence and are the building blocks of strong local organisations. SOS Sahel is a lean and cost-effective charity with low overheads (35 staff in Sudan; 1 in the UK); dedicated to work in a region that does not have a high public profile. Donations from individuals are invaluable since they enable us to match institutional grants and thus lever greater funding. Please pledge your support to SOS Sahel UK today!

Holy Trinity is a growing and friendly Christian community in the heart of Leicester. We are seeking to revitalize our facilities to bring about renewed connection with the City of Leicester. Comprising a new frontage and foyer, with a staffed reception space and coffee shop, people will be able to pop in for a decent coffee and explore the church facilities. Our various groups will all benefit from refurbished and refitted spaces, including a new kitchen for our Triangle ministry to the homeless and vulnerably-housed, and new AV systems for all manner of different events from kids days to film nights. All of this is to bring our facilities to being fit for purpose for a 21st century meeting place that meets not only our needs but those we serve. And it is also a place for people to have confidence in from the moment they walk in the door.
