9th Harpenden Scout Group (UK, 1021216) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

9th Harpenden Scout Group - a community based group providing activities, education and exploration for local children.  On this page you can pay your subscriptions and make donations to the group. Our new hut is now built, so many thanks to all those who helped, monetarily or otherwise. (To hire the hut, go to our website: harpendenhall.org) In order to pay your subscription or donation, please click on the Make a donation button in the right hand column. But first, please see the guidance below. Gift Aid The subscriptions (and any other donations by anyone other than companies) potentially qualify for gift aid. So, during the payment process, you will be asked whether you elect for gift aid. This boosts our income by 25%, at no cost to you, so we encourage you to elect for gift aid if possible (see next paragraph).  The subscription/donation payment will qualify for gift aid if it is made by a taxpayer who, in the tax year (6 April to 5 April) that the subscription is paid, has paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax that is at least equal to the amount of tax that the 9th Harpenden (plus any other charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs) will reclaim on that person's gifts for that tax year. Other taxes such as VAT, Corporation Tax or Council Tax do not qualify. Charities can reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 gift given (on or after 6 April 2008).  If you do not meet this test and so cannot claim, but another member of the family does, please arrange for them to make the payment instead, if possible. We can only reclaim basic rate income tax; if you pay higher rates of tax, you should keep a record of the subscription and enter it in your tax return to receive a rebate of the higher rate tax, which will be equal to 25% of your cash subscription/donation. On £110, that's £27.50 rebate, and on £40 that's £10, so it is worth doing. Even if you don't want to benefit from this rebate, please consider making the claim anyway and passing the benefit to us (by making an additional donation equal to the rebate). Subscriptions The information that you will have to fill in to make your payment is very straightforward. When you are asked if you wish to disclose your name and leave a message, it is important that you specify "subs" and the name of the child to which the payment relates. Otherwise, we will not know that you have paid.  If you have more than one subscription to pay, you are welcome to combine the figures into one payment, as long as you ensure that your message specifies the names of the children to which it relates. Brick appeal and donations  If you are making a donation, please explain this in the Leave a Message box. For late donations to the brick appeal, make sure that in that box you specify the names of the child (or adult) that you wish to be inscribed. (Maximum characters: 2 lines per brick; 13 letters per line.) Please opt for gift aid if you qualify.
