Faversham Umbrella is here to support all members of the community. Usually, when the centre is open as normal, we provide facilities and activities for everyone, in a safe and non-judgemental way, for companionship, friendship and support. We offer support to anyone within the community, but especially those who may be experiencing vulnerability for many reasons including loneliness, grieving, short or long-term mental health, physical issues or learning disabilities. Our aim is to support and enable our visitors to increase in self-esteem, confidence and independence. We welcome visitors into the centre and invite them to have a drink and hot meal in our café area or take part in one of our many activities. Whilst the centre has been closed due to Covid-19 we have been providing a weekly phone service to those who are isolated so that they can hear a friendly voice and a listening ear once a week. We also send out a craft pack on a fortnightly basis to people’s door to give them something to have a go at whilst many activity groups are closed.
