ETC stands for Educating The Children, which is exactly what we are doing in the Masai Mara, in Kenya and also in the UK (through our global learning programme). There are essentially two strands to ETC: (1) UK VOLUNTEER TEACHERS: go to teach in the Mara where classroom sizes are roughly 1 teacher to 100 pupils! They also exchange best practises with Kenyan teachers, and educate UK pupils on their return through real life examples of global learning. We provide them with the training to do that. (2) FARIJIKA SECONDARY SCHOOL: we have recently started building the first girls secondary school in the Masai Mara which will also act as a safe haven from female genital mutilation and forced childhood marriages. International research shows that investing in girls delivers a higher return than any other investment made in a community's development.

Bike 4 Cancer was set up by a group of keen cyclists who have all lost a family member or close friend to cancer. As a specialist cancer respite charity with a sporting focus, we provide relief from the difficulties of living with cancer. We do this by providing respite days and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer - some of which are cycling related. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. cycling) and how it can help both prevent cancer and assist in recovery post diagnosis. Join our cycling community and help people living with cancer at the same time!

Christ Church Boat Club is the college boat club of Christ Church, Oxford, a large and prestigious College & constituent part of Oxford University. It exists, as it has for nearly two centuries, to provide rowing, competition facilities & fellowship for undergraduates & graduates studying up at the 'House'. Founded in 1817 (the year of its first Headship) Christ Church Boat Club has a proud and unmatched history among the ranks of the Oxford Colleges. Each year its crews compete at varying levels in the Oxford bumping races & in other competitions, both in Oxford & the wider rowing world. Some of the members of the Club are already experienced oarsmen & women before they arrive: others learn their rowing up at the House (a nickname based on the Latin 'Aedes Christi', literally the 'House of Christ'). Novice programmes begin within a few days of arrival in Oxford, culminating seven weeks later in the Christ Church Regatta, a large annual event involving race-offs between the novice crews of all the Oxford colleges. The following term brings Torpids - an annual bumping race in eights - &, finally, in the summer term a second set of bumping races in Eights Week, often attended by thousands of spectators. A few of the most proficient will be selected to row for the university crews, either in OUBC or OUWBC, or in the men's & women's lightweight or development squads. In addition there is the Christ Church Boat Club Society, an association of old members of the House who come together to provide support in the form of coaching, funding & attendance at races, proving that membership of the club is indeed for life.
