St Chad’s Community Project was founded in 1990. We support local families to build a better community and work in partnership with local people to create opportunities for personal and social development. We offer high quality childcare, family support and educational opportunities. We are based in Bensham, Gateshead but work with families across the Borough and beyond. Our services reach over 1500 people per year and directly over support 1000 families, including those in need of emotional and practical support. All families are welcome at St Chad’s and our Family Support team helps many parents struggling with fragile self confidence or low self esteem by providing emotional and practical help when they need it. Many families feel isolated and St.Chad’s provides a vital link to the community by offering access to a wide range of services at our centre or by working in partnership with others.

The Snow Sports Foundation (SSF) generates funds to promote and deliver snow sports opportunities, either individually or in groups from schools, to a range of people with additional needs, disabilities, financial hardship or social circumstances. Our particular focus is on children and young people. This engagement takes place on the slopes of indoor ski centres in the UK and enhances their social, emotional and communication skills, whilst improving fitness, balance, concentration and ultimately, self-confidence. Learning to ski or snowboard will not only benefit people in the development of their own life skills, it will ultimately enhance their family, school and social environments. All of this is not possible without your help.
