The Centenary Appeal is for a new Library at Alice, the student home of Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, two of South Africa's four Nobel Peace Laureates; of Oliver Tambo, Govan Mbeki, and a host of other leaders in politics, government, the professions, business and academia in South Africa and across the African continent.  The Foundation also aims to promote interest in South Africa, especially in education in the still-impoverished Eastern Cape.
