Fittingly the Foundation was launched in the Lions' special 150th Anniversary Year. Please donate to support our cause.The Swinton Lions Community Sports Foundation was given official charitable status in June 2016, with an aim to deliver a meaningful community programme based on 4 coreprinciples - Sport, Health, Education and Heritage. To deliver on these objectives we work closely with other local charitable groups, educational establishments, and the Local Authority. So by supporting our Foundation and its aims you will also be assisting other community groups. The Foundation is also working closely with Salford City Council and other partners, on the ambition of delivering a community sports stadium within the traditional boundaries of Swinton & Pendlebury. Please donate as little or as much as you can afford, perhaps as a regular monthly payment. Anyone making a donation of at least £25 will be automatically enrolled as an Associate Member of the Foundation, and as such will receive regular email updates. Alhamdulillah the Madrasah grew and moved to a council building. We now urgently require a new premises. HCO currently run an evening Maktab together with Hifz classes. Jumuah and Taraweeh Salah are also performed at HCO. HCO has plans to expand which include five times Salah and classes for all ages. The minimum estimated cost of a new building is £500,000 “The example of those who spend in the way of Allāh is just like a grain that produced seven ears, each ear having a hundred grains; and Allāh multiplies for whom He wills. YTD Raised: £0.00We are a relatively new charity funding specialist equipment and therapy sessions to children with acquired brain injury or trauma. Charlie, aged 3 and a half, suffered a stroke during cardiac surgery in 2015. He lost movement to his left side and the ability to understand and produce speech. Our equipment is helping Charlie to learn how to communicate again. Aiden, aged 7, suffered weakness and loss of vision as the result of a brain tumour. He has just flown to America for proton therapy and without our tablet he would not be able to access educational applications or see his mum and little sister on Skype. Harry, aged 2, suffers several seizures a day, following a gunshot wound to his head. By using our dark den and sensory toys he is gaining motion in the left side of his body and re-bonding with his brother. He has now been discharged from hospital. From hospital equipment, to dark rooms and iPads we're proud of how much we've raised the last few years so that we've been able to help children with brain injury.All the children we help are referred by either their occupational therapist, nurses and doctors on the neuro-rehab ward at Bristol Children's hospital. Or other charities like Marthacare (now part of the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal) Child Brain Injury Trust and the British Institute for Brain Injured Children. The Park will be a haven for wildlife, an educational resource and will provide a base for celebration / fundraising activities.The land was purchased in April 2016, the governing charity formed in August 2016. In September 2016 planning permission was gained and works begun to create The Park. The Park will open to the public on the 2nd of September 2017.Funding has been secured for all elements except for some of the play equipment.Action for Communities in Rural England (ACRE) selected us as one of only ten projects (out of 450 they worked with in 2016) to be a case study. They stated we represented the very best of community grassroots action. Our vision:The Park, Kilnwick - A thriving public space for all the community to meet, play, exercise and celebrate; combining facilities for the community, education needs, encouraging wildlife and offering volunteering opportunities to all.Our objectives and services we will deliver:To provide the local community with an improved local environment where they can safely exercise, socialise and play.To enhance biodiversity through native woodland and habitat creation alongside a wildlife educational resource for families, schools and playgroups.To encourage local young people to make a positive change in their lives by developing confidence, skills and abilities through volunteering.To create an inclusive focal hub for local groups to utilise and for community celebration events.
