Coventry & District Samaritans is an independent charity, run entirely by unpaid volunteers. We provide a free 24-hour helpline for people who are upset, troubled or who are feeling suicidal. We have been working in Coventry since 1964 and are proud holders of the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award that can be given to local volunteer groups in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE. It costs about £50,000 a year to run our branch and we raise this ourselves through our charity shop, fundraising activities and donations. You can use this website to contribute funds in any way that you want. For example, by making a one off or regular donation, setting up a fundraising page for a personal challenge or participation in an organised event, collecting to mark a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary or giving in recognition or memory of a special person.
