Burntisland Playgroup (UK, SC014372) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

Burntisland Playgroup has been opened since 1976,with 24 children aged from three to four attend five sessions a week. The group is in partnership with Fife Council Education following the Curriculum for Excellence. Burntisland Playgroup is a registered charity based in our local community centre. We provide high quality care and education for pre school children in Burntisland and the surrounding areas. Although we are in partnership with the local council and receive some funding for eligible children, this barely covers wages and rent, so we rely heavily on fundraising and donations to provide us with any day to day resources and activities required. We have a management committee elected from the parents/carers of the children that attend our group, who tirelessly try to raise enough funds to provide their children with quality resources and activities throughout their time at playgroup. Burntisland Playgroup could not survive without the generosity of the many individuals who support our fundraising events and the companies who donate money for specific items/activities. We are always grateful for any donations to make our work possible.

Truth and Hope (UK, XT26748) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Founded in 2010, the Truth & Hope charity (formerly 'Against Child Abuse') is an independent, voluntary, non profit organisation, committed to helping victims of child abuse.  Set up by a Northampton based family, horrified by cases of child abuse highlighting the appalling state of the UK child protection system, as well as the appalling lack of resources available to help people who have been affected by the issue. We are dedicated to raising awareness of the true extent and prevalence of the abuse and exploitation of children, not reported in mainstream media. By affiliating with other grassroot support organisations, we are building a strong support network, whilst fundraising to support victims and survivors directly with counselling, therapy, healing, recovery workshops… or just a cup of tea and a chat! We organise fundraising events such as the ‘Race To End Child Abuse’, as well as public events such as the ‘UK Child Protection Rally’, an opportunity for victims, survivors and campaigners to come together, see they are not alone and stand united for the cause. Think Amy (UK, 1156530) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Think Amy is a registered charity which promotes safe driving. We do this through education, partnership working and raising public awareness about the consequences of dangerous driving. We have a particular focus on educating new and young drivers, statistically most likely to cause death or serious injury on the roads. The charity was set up by Jane Hofmeister after her 13 year old daughter Amy was killed on 15 June 2011 whilst cycling on a cycle path in broad daylight in Taunton, Somerset. The driver of the car that killed Amy had been racing another at motorway speeds along a residential road. He overtook the car he was racing, lost control on a bend and struck the kerb, flipping the car into the air which hit Amy, killing her instantly. We want to remind the driver that their driving style is a choice they make themselves - the driver alone has the power and the choice to drive safely - we want to influence that choice. We want to encourage all drivers to drive safely and reduce the number of avoidable, unnecessary deaths and serious injury on the roads.
