The Free Fringe Ltd (UK, SC052628) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

The Free Fringe was started on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1996 at its original venue, The Footlights and Firkin by Peter Buckley Hill with his comedy show Peter Buckley Hill and Some Comedians. Disheartened by what he saw as unreasonable hire charges for venues and high ticket prices for the public, PBH (as he is more commonly known) tried a new model for putting on shows. Instead of paying for a venue and charging for tickets, there should be no hire charge and free entrance for everyone. If the audience like the show, they put a voluntary donation in a bucket at the end. Fortunately, a lot of people seem to like this model, which is why PBH’s Free Fringe is now the biggest producer at the Edinburgh Festival, with over 600 shows and 10,000 performances pre-Covid and the total rising again since 2020. That’s why our programme of free shows (“The Wee Blue Book”) has become essential reading for any fringe-goer. The venue makes money from increased drinks sales, the performer goes away several thousand pounds less broke, and visitors get to see far more fantastic quality shows than they could ever have imagined previously. It’s fair to say that the Free Fringe has totally transformed Edinburgh, and now attracts big comedy names, produces award winners and is the most dynamic thing to happen to the festival since the beginning of the Fringe.

Ilmington School PTA (UK, 1028139) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

We are the PTA for Ilmington CofE Primary School. We are a small primary school with only 117 pupils. As the government continues to reduce the funding for schools, it is becoming increasingly important to raise additional funds for the school. We are a really proactive PTA and arrange lots of fundraising events throughout the year, including serving tea and cake at our local Village Show & school productions, family events such as Bingo, Breakfast with Santa, Easter events, the list goes on! All profits from our events and any raffles held go direct to the school. We currently have 2 big projects that the school have asked our support with, as their ever reducing budget just won’t stretch that far. Our first project is to make the playground a safer and more inclusive environment. The school would like to add a quiet corner with shelter and add a wall mural, repair the current shelter and decking area. Along with freshening up the current playground markings. This work is going to cost around £10,000. The second project is to purchase a new set of Phonics Reading Scheme. The school currently use the E-book version, but to purchase the physical books it cost £8,178. Having the actual books to use in school and send home means that they are full accessible to all pupils. We really appreciate any support that you can give us to help us provide this much needed provisions. Thank you for taking the time to read about our current projects.

Ambitious Together Foundation (UK, 1202500) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

Every young person has potential, yet too many face adulthood without support, networks or guidance. The Ambitious Together Foundation (ATF) exists to change this by building the UK’s first national infrastructure for mentoring. We support care-experienced, care-adjacent and marginalised young people aged 16 to 30, including young carers, those affected by bereavement and young adults who have faced deep instability. Across the UK, 1 in 3 care leavers becomes homeless within 2 years, up to 27% of the adult prison population have experienced care and nearly one million young people are economically inactive. This represents not only personal loss, but a loss of future economic and social contribution. ATF brings together intergenerational mentoring, data-driven matching, research, and civic partnerships to create measurable change. Our AI-supported platform ensures safe, compatible, and impactful mentoring relationships that build confidence, wellbeing and progression into education, work and training. Your support fuels this impact. Every pound invested unlocks opportunity, strengthens communities, and creates a ripple effect that reaches families, communities and future generations.
