Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. We pray you are having a fruitful and prosperous Ramadhan. You will be well aware of giving lillah and sadaqah in this holy month. We urgently require an abundance of your duas and to financial assistance to clear a loan of £92,000.By the grace and mercy of the All-Mighty Allah, Al Abrar Academy (Charity No:1167207) first opened its doors on the 13th October 2013. Al Abrar Academy was established through the blessings and duas of our pious predecessors. A gap had been identified amongst the local community relating to the lack of Islamic knowledge and guidance, which was leading people towards the disobedience of the All-Mighty. A centre that would cater for the religious needs of the community was much needed. The Academy has therefore been set up to serve and address this need. It is a much needed interface with the wider community to help people improve their understanding of Islam and shariah. The academy provides classes, children’s evening madrasah, activities, and daily tarbiya programs. Masha Allah the academy is oversubscribed therefore we are struggling to accommodate those on the waiting list.On Friday and Eid prayers the toilets and wudhu area is proving to be too small. We have come a long way from what was only a vision , changing the lives of many. This is an opportunity for us to reap the rewards of all the good work that is taking place at the academy. Please donate generously to this noble cause so we can return the money that has been borrowed and remember that one’s wealth does not decrease when spending in the path of Allah and that his reward is with Allah in the hereafter. Al Abrar Academy is running under the tutelage of Sheikh Asif Ibrahim Sahib DB.We therefore request any donations you can offer for this most noble of causes. JazzakAllahu Khayrun Charity No: 1167207

Developing Artists is a registered charity working to support the arts in post-conflict nations and deprived communities. Our projects connect people and institutions in some of the world's most disadvantaged areas with an international network of arts organisations and practitioners. Developing Artists strengthens underprivileged and marginalised communities by providing constructive outlets for their creative life, and transformative long-term opportunities for self-expression and professional development. Developing Artists creates and supports collaborative productions, and through these productions identifies talented individuals who would benefit from participation in the charity's Apprenticeship Programme. Many of our productions go on to tour around the world, providing participants with a global platform and raising awareness of the key advocacy issues each of their projects address at an international level. Over the past ten years Developing Artists has delivered over 25 projects in eight countries, and brought together artists and performing arts organisations throughout the world. The charity fosters a self-sustaining approach to the arts through which individuals acquire the skills to earn an income from their work, and initiate their own projects over the long term. They are empowered to share what they have learned with their local communities, thereby acting as catalysts for wider social change.

George Abbot PTA is a community of parents, students, teachers and friends who raise funds to improve the quality of school life at George Abbot school and organise social events for the benefit of the whole community. The PTA's next big project is to raise funds to refurbish the school’s science laboratories. In 2014, the school achieved its best GCSE and A Level grades for Sciences. However the science experience which the students receive is affected by the poor condition of some of our laboratories. Five labs need refurbishment and we are aiming to raise £120,000 to fund 3 of these (at £40,000 per lab). The photograph shows a refurbished lab. If all of the labs were like this, it would make a big difference to science teaching at school. Please donate to this exciting project. £50 donation per family would be amazing, but please give what you can (using Gift Aid if you are able to).Our next big fundraising event is the Clandon Park Run so click on the events page on the right to find out more details and how to earn house points by sponsoring our Science Teachers.
