Right Choice Academy (UK, 1161957) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. Right Choice Academy enables young people to take part in activities that may otherwise be inaccessible or unknown to them due to social, economic or personal disadvantage. These positive experiences will engage, motivate and inspire them to realise their full potential.RCA offers an experience in which young people can discover so much about themselves and what they are capable of achieving in a challenging environment through their own efforts. Many of the young people we will work with are low educational achievers and a lack of self-esteem means they have no belief in their ability to change the course of their lives for the better. They lack confidence in their own ability, find it difficult to communicate and relate with others, and to maintain relationships.A number of the young people are from areas of social and economic deprivation, both urban and rural. A proportion have emotional or behavioural problems, are resistant to authority or even advice, and are hard to reach and engage with. Some of the young people are from troubled family backgrounds, and that includes those who are in or have been in care, are young carers or are victims of abuse. Saiga Conservation Alliance (UK, 1135851) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

The Saiga Antelope is one of the most threatened species on the planet. Their numbers have declined by 95% in just 15 years. Help us to reverse this tragic decline. Saiga antelopes used to roam the plains along with mammoths, woolly rhinos and sabre-toothed cats. Now this unique antelope is under threat from poachers, who hunt the male saigas for their horns (which are used in traditional Chinese medicine).New railways and roads as well as oil and gas exploration are fragmenting the saiga's traditional pastures and stopping them from using their age-old migration routes. The Saiga Conservation Alliance works with local people in China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia and Uzbekistan to carry our conservation projects which help save this critically endangered antelope from imminent extinction.
