Ruxley Church is currently fund raising for its Memorial Project. It is a part of our vision that members of the church and local community should be able to remember the loved ones they have lost.To this end the church is providing a Memorial Book to be kept in the Chapel, recording the names of those who have left us and messages of comfort. An on-line Memorial Book will also be made available. Outside the Chapel the church intends erecting a Memorial Stone which will be used for times of communal remembrance and as a focus when local or national grief needs to find expression. Finally, our most ambitious objective is to build a Memorial space where the names of loved ones will be recorded on mounted plaques, surrounded by the beauty of an English garden. Each of these is for the church and for the community and we ask for your kind support in making these a reality. Our members have already donated sufficient for us to press on with the first two objectives; the garden will require more. Please prayerfully consider if you can help. All donations made through MyDonate will be towards the Memorial Project until the work of the Project is complete. Ruxley Church has been a Church of England and Methodist Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) since 2002 . We are one Christian family as we worship, learn and have fun together. We know that as we rely on God's Holy Spirit he will equip us daily to serve him more and more.Ruxley Church is dynamic in engaging with its local community and extends a warm welcome at Monday and Thursday cafe and Mother and Toddlers session. At Island Youth Water Activities Centre our aim is to challenge young people from the Isle of Wight through the medium of watersports. With due regard given to safety, water activities are enjoyable and exciting. The impact of our provision can be measured in many ways. Participants gain in confidence, competence and fitness. Young people learn to work with others and gain an appreciation for the outdoor environment. As IYWAC enters it's twentieth year of provision it seems ever more important that we encourage young people to extend their experience beyond the classroom and the home. Our activities offer a positive antidote to the frustrations of disadvantage, disaffection and disability. IYWAC's welcoming atmosphere and professional committed staff make it ideally equipped to make a difference in the lives of young people.
