ASPIE is a group for adults with Asperger’s Syndrome providing motivation and friendship. Through meeting regularly ASPIE reduces isolation and organically improves prospects in education, employment and independent living. Please support Will Westwood on the 24th April whoI will be running the Stratford Marathon. This is a 42 kilometre course (26.2 miles) mostly road but some off road running. He aims to do this in just under 4 hours although my main objective is simply to finish without injury. The homes then were in serious need of help on account of the economic decline and high inflation that had completely eroded their financial reserves. Today we have had to divert almost all our resources to supplying food and fuel to safeguard the very lives of the elderly of all races living in residential homes and many still living at home often alone.. The local currency is now worthless removing any buying power from all local pensions, and although food is now available, it is priced in US$'s - a currency out of reach to most pensioners.

Cycle Across Barriers is a project by the Hackney Cypriot Association which started in 2010. Its purpose is to promote bi-communal friendship between the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities, and raise funds for the chosen charities.It is a cycling tour of Cyprus whose route covers both sides of the divide, crossing the Green Line in the process.The next event will be 7 days from 14th April to 20th April 2018, followed by a Cycling Tour of Lefkosia on the 21st with children from the chosen charities, and then a fundraising event in the evening at the premises of Home for Co-operation in the UN Buffer Zone. You are welcome to come and join us for the whole or part of the journey.
