Motorcycle Outreach (MoR) is a registered charitable (non-profit) organisation which works to introduce effective healthcare delivery in remote areas of developing countries. We currently support the Health for All (HfA) project on the island of Flores in Indonesia. Effective healthcare in rural areas depends on transport. Those living in outlying villages have no means of accessing health centres, and healthcare workers have no other vehicles which can access those villages. This can result in local people using "witch doctors", local untrained medical practitioners who do not have the skills or knowledge necessary to give effective medical care. Vehicles used for this purpose need to be systematically maintained and managed. Motorcycle Outreach assists governmental and non-governmental organisations in this. Motorcycles are used because they are the only practical form of transport in an area where roads are no more than tracks, often in very bad condition; 4-wheel vehicles find it impossible to use these routes, and the distances involved make it impractical for healthcare workers to get to outlying villages on foot, or in time to deal with genuine emergencies (eg during childbirth). Therefore HfA extends the effectiveness of existing health resources already provided through the national healthcare system of Indonesia; local doctors, midwives, nurses and healthcare workers are trained to ride the motorcycles and HfA implements a program of Transport Resource Management (TRM) specifically to provide "zero breakdown" motorcycles for rural health deliveries. This includes vaccines for children, maternal and child health care, tuberculosis, malaria and STD-HIV/AIDS treatment.

We provide funds for building materials, education and medical equipment, clean water supply and sustainable electricity to schools and empower young people to learn about their rights and uphold them. We also co-ordinate volunteers sponsoring children in schools and assisting very poor youth with hospital bills. We believe that sustainable education especially for young people is the best way out of poverty, corruption, abuse of human rights and child exploitation which are common practices in Africa. The project in hand is the building of a nursery and primary school in a remote village in Cameroon to serve about 700 children. View the recent pictures in the photo gallery. We have raised about £31,000 which was our primary target. But this was a great under-estimation given the inflation. Therefore your generous donations will be very much appreciated to add a further £10,000 to complete the venture.
Siblings who grow up with a disabled brother or sister often have more worries, more responsibilities and less attention from parents than those who don’t. Sibs is the UK charity for siblings and provides information and support to siblings of all ages.
Cancer already causes more deaths each year worldwide than HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria combined. By 2020 there are expected to be 16 million new cases of cancer every year, 70 per cent of which will be in developing countries, which are least prepared to address the growing cancer burden. THE TIME TO TAKE ACTION IS NOW. African countries are the least able of all developing countries to cope, having few cancer care services. Lack of resources and basic infrastructure mean that most Africans have no access to cancer screening, early diagnosis, treatment or palliative care. Consequently a diagnosis of cancer leads, in most cases, to a painful and distressing death. AfrOx is currently working on a range of programmes in Ghana. Our programme priorities in Ghana include: - Support for national cancer care planning. - Provision of training and education for healthcare staff. - Improvement in palliative care. - The early diagnosis and treatment of cancer. - Raising public awareness of the early signs of cancer and methods of cancer prevention. For more information about our work, please visit our website: www.afrox.org AfrOx believes that by forging alliances of individuals, NGOs and governments to share expertise, technology, training and a degree of philanthropic support, much could be done to help reduce global disparities in cancer care. We hope that you will work together with us to achieve this goal.

We aim to raise and administer funds to provide disadvantaged young people, (generally between the ages of 18 and 27) in Laos with educational opportunities. It is a pitifully poor country, limited industry, and for young adults coming from an agrarian family background, the opportunity for further education is generally non-existent. We are currently supporting 15 students (10 male and 5 female) at universities and colleges. We want to increase the number of students to 20 and, more importantly, establish an English Institute in Luang Prabang (the second main city in Laos). The establishment of the school is an extremely exciting project as it is a natural adjunct to our main activity and also because it has been proposed to us by the Children’s Cultural Centre, a semi-autonomous entity administered by the local authority in Luang Prabang. We believe that by working alongside such an entity, we will be able to benefit the local society by giving a wider age group the chance to learn English. Whilst there are other schools that teach English, these schools are for students who can afford the fees. Our aim is to provide lessons at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels on a charitable basis and to provide students who reach the required standard with a certificate that is recognised by the Lao authorities. We believe that a UK charity that spearheads the teaching of English in a country that has generally not benefitted from any support from the UK would be fantastic.
Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP) is one of the rarest and most disabling genetic conditions known to medicine, causing bone to form in muscles and other connective tissues such as tendons and ligaments turning otherwise healthy people into human statues. A healthy mind locked inside a frozen body. The condition is so rare (1 in 2,000,000) that little commercial interest exists in finding a cure so we need your help. Your donations are the difference between research continuing and it stopping completely. Even the smallest donations make a big difference. FOP Action is a working name of FOP Friends of Oliver a charity registered in England and Wales #1147704.

Following a very successful 800th anniversary celebration of the building in 1990, the idea of establishing The Friends of Holy Cross Church Sarratt was conceived. It was felt that the raising of funds for the upkeep of the building could and should be separated from, but still kept under the umbrella of, the Parochial Church Council. It was considered that the primary aim of the PCC was pastoral and to support the ministry of the living church rather than spending time on thinking of fundraising activities to maintain the bricks and mortar. A formal Charitable Trust (The Friends of Holy Cross Church, Sarratt - UK Registered Charity Number 1018991) was therefore eventually formed in 1992 to do just that. The responsibility for the upkeep and overseeing repairs etc remains with the PCC, what The Friends do is raise the monies to pay for it. As well as paying for routine repairs and maintenance of the church, the most significant example of how The Friends have helped was providing the funds to enable the complete re-roofing of the church in the year 2000, at a cost of approximately £90,000; internal redecoration in 2008 costing £57,000 and the rebuilding of the West Wall and Boundary Walls towards the end of 2009, costing approximately £50,000. We have regular events and projects. We support the Flower Festival on the last weekend in June each year, and hold an annual Sponsored Bicycle Ride in conjunction with the Historic Churches Trust. These events, as well as being for fundraising, are of course also community events bringing together Holy Cross and the people of Sarratt.

The Rugrats Rugby Foundation is the charitable arm of Rugrats Rugby and has been established in memory of Naomi Gill, who sadly passed away in 2007 aged 15, during a sports game at her local school. Naomi the daughter of co-founder of Rugrats Rugby Martyn Gill had a passion for wanting to work with children upon leaving school and we hope that through our project work in which we will provide a range of sporting and educational opportunities to children and young people throughout the UK we will keep her memory alive. The Rugrats Rugby Foundation - Engaging children through the power of sport!
