The charity raises funds in the UK and NI to support the work carried out by Pastor Jacob and his team in India. India Hope is a Christian based organisation, and the activity of the charity is to look after over 6,000 orphans and needy children by providing them with a home to live in, food and an education. Many of our orphan children progress their education with vocational training in our Technical and Nursing schools and bible colleges. The charity also looks after 26 leper colonies providing a much-needed mobile medical clinic and medical assistance and food for the most vulnerable. We raise funds continually to enable us to install water wells in rural villages so there is clear running water in the village for everyone.

The Marble Project exists to help those who need it most in Bulgaria. Our aim is simply to improve the quality of life of the children and elderly, both in material ways but also through human contact. We visit the town a throughout the year and once a year around 12 to 15 of our members travel to Bulgaria to try to make a practical difference. They fund all their own travel and accommodation costs and other expenses; it is a point of pride for the Marble Project that administrative costs are as near to zero as it is possible to get them so that the money we raise goes where it should. We help out practically by building shelters for the elderly, painting, running handicraft classes for the orphanages and buying much needed equipment for the care homes and orphanages. We also run a Fun Day for the orphanages and a sports day for the local schools. Please visit our website - www.TheMarbleProject.org - for more information on our projects

Our Scout Troop is called the 17th St Albans Group. Scouting is about fun, challenge and adventure. Scouting actively engages and supports young people (of all genders) in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. At the 17th, we have an active group of young people who meet weekly in our Scout hut. The Group has a strong emphasis on outdoor activity: camping, orienteering, hiking, camp fire cooking, physical challenges, assault courses, archery, water sports and many more activities. Scouts are encouraged to take responsibility, embrace adventure and take on leadership roles during their time with the Group. We are always in need of funds to support these activities, particularly funds for new tents and cooking equipment.

Cherwell Theatre Company is a creative home for young theatre-makers in Banbury and the surrounding areas. Through active participation in theatre projects, we create opportunities to inspire, train, nurture and develop young performers, directors, stage managers, designers and technicians. We strive to serve our participants and our audiences by producing ambitious, innovative, affordable and accessible theatre for our community. During our thirteen-year history, we have presented:twelve festive productions; three festivals showcasing local young writers, directors, designers and performers; two Theatre in Education productions playing to more than 100,000 local schoolchildren; and a number of street theatre and site-specific works such as ‘A Shakespeare Summer Soiree’ at Broughton Castle. Our alumni have gone on to train at prestigious drama schools including RADA, Mountview, The Central School of Speech & Drama, Italia Conti, Birmingham School of Acting and the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts: many choose to return to work with us, as professionals, post-training. Others have gone on to successful roles in non-arts based jobs. Cherwell Theatre Company is proud to welcome all young voices, regardless of background or experience. We hold no auditions, and as a registered charity with low overheads, are able to keep our fees low.
