We’re A Spoonful Of Sugar. We help seriously ill children in hospital. We do this by giving them the best medicine they can get. A laugh. Each week, we send a professional entertainer or artist into the wards to give the children a healing dose of fun. We try our best to give them something to look forward to - like arranging a post-treatment VIP trip to Hamleys. In all this, our aim is to help the children forget where they are, forget the suffering and forget the monotony of hospitalisation. If we can achieve any of that, even for a second, it’s all worth it. We already help the kids in the Carousel Ward of UCH in London. Now we need your help to get to the hundreds of children in 21 similar wards nationwide. Every penny you can spare will go directly into bringing some much-needed fun and laughter to all of them.

Barnton Baptist Churt meet at the 'Music Box' at Stevenson College in Edinburgh each Sunday morning. We are just a bunch of ordinary people seeking to worship an extraordinary God. Many of us have discovered that God not only cares about people but wants to be intimately involved with their lives. He cares about us and cares deeply about the world in which we live. At Barnton we not only seek to know this God better but to discover together what it really means to follow him, and learn what is in his heart for us our families and loved ones and for our communities. It is exciting to realise that God not only has plans for us, but plans for the world in which we live. As we come together we can discover something more of how God can use us to make a difference, even if only in a small way to this world in which we live. In specific support of our international responsibilities as a church with Mission at its heart, we are working with Compassion UK to link with the island of La Gonave in Haiti. We are sending out a team of

We are a nationwide charity supporting families with children under 18 years of age with various conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Cancer, Autism, e.t.c. Our principal aims are to ensure children have life saving equipment so as to enable them to remain in the family home whilst undergoing essential treatment. We also supply respite breaks for families so they can enjoy some quality time together away from a hospital environment. Most of the families have either given up work or taken time off work to be the carer for the children so as you can imagine funds in the household are very restricted, as a charity we try to make the children's lives as comfortable and as happy as possible. . Being a non government funded charity we are finding it increasingly difficult to raise enough funds and are getting more and more requests from families so we are very grateful for any help we get as at it makes such a difference to the lives of these children.
