In a world where nearly 34,000 people are forcibly displaced every day as a result of conflict or persecution, the need for alternatives to refugee camps and to look to solutions that restore independence and dignity are paramount. When arriving in a new community or country, people who have been forced to flee their homes face huge challenges in accessing housing education and employment. Your support enables us to provide education and employment opportunities and access to housing for refugee and host communities alike. Refugee camps place a limit on people's human rights and strip away people's ability to make their choices own choices about their lives.

ALRA (The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts ) is recognised in the acting industry for producing highly professional actors who are passionate about their craft, and although we teach all aspects of live and recorded performance we are known for offering an exemplary training in screen acting. ALRA is an established member of the Conference of Drama Schools and it is our policy to nurture the students' strengths and individual qualities. The main source of funding for ALRA students is the Dance and Drama Award. These grants dramatically reduce tuition fees but are only available to 60% of the students. Those not in receipt of a DaDa are expected to find their tuition fees and living expenses independently, which can often make the course unaffordable. Another financial difficulty is that none of our students is eligible for student loans. As a result, most work at weekends and during holidays in an attempt to supplement their income. As it is extremely difficult to meet the costs of living in London they inevitably resort to taking out substantial bank loans. Financial pressure is an unwelcome distraction which causes students' work to suffer. You can help ALRA students to fulfil their dreams by making a donation today!

The Highcombe Edge Trust is a charity that was established in 2003 to raise funds for the education of students at its campus in Hindhead, Surrey. Focus School Hindhead Campus is a successful school that has clear goals to become a global leader in education within the next 3 years. The school is entirely independently funded and relies heavily on the donations of those who appreciate our efforts to provide the best possible education for our students. That dedication led the school to the best GCSE results in Surrey in 2014, and now in summer 2016 brings it to the point of its biggest leap forward yet. Through an 800m2 addition to the buildings we’re bringing world class facilities to our students. A new school hall and learning centre will inspire a whole generation of students to fulfil their dreams. Our new learning centre opens up a completely new style of education.
