Together, service user, volunteers, supporters and staff at the Naz Project London fought back and have managed to save our project. Through lobbying, campaigning, fundraising and raising awareness of the appeal, we as a community have successfully turned around a potentially devastating scenario of closure. Our target communities are our greatest strength. We exist only to serve them and our mission to mobilize our communities and to respond to the challenges of HIV and AIDS and sexual health underpins all that we do.Community has spoken and is with us.Grant-making Trusts noted the huge effort being made by our communities to secure NPL's future. Inspired by the way the community galvanized itself into action and responded to the funding crisis with robust pragmatism combined with passion and commitment, the Trusts felt it was truly worthwhile to get on board and support our cause. ·One provided us with access to free financial and legal advice. ·One provided us with fundraising expertise. ·And one provided us with a six-figure grant for the next three years. Our communities have given NPL a clear mandate to continue to do what we do best. And so we will! YTD Raised: £0.00Sunbeams Play is a registered charity, which provides a fun, safe and caring environment for those children and young people with ASD to thrive. We understand how difficult it can be for them to engage in mainstream activities due to a variety of social needs and anxieties. At Sunbeams Play they can relax and play in a comfortable environment, alongside or with others who have similar needs. From experience and meeting the children we find they love attending as everyone is here for the same reason. They do not encounter ‘competition’, or the need to behave in a certain way, they can simply be themselves! All of our staff are fully trained and have relevant experience of working with children and young people. Training about Autism and behaviour management is kept up to date at all times, as well as first aid and other relevant courses. Sunbeams works on a 1:3 ratio, this means for every 3-children/young people there will be 1 member of staff. We can have up to 15 children/young people in any one session, your child will be invited to attend a six week introduction to the setting during the session appropriate to their age. This enables us to get to know them thoroughly before they start and also for them to get used to staff, the environment and the other children /young people. Sometimes parents and carers need support to, our Parent Support group, lets you meet other parents and carers, share ideas, tips and experiences, ask advice or simply relax in each others company. For those of you that need to talk privately we offer appointments to talk to one of our staff members who can advise on a number of issues. If we can't help we will help you find someone who can.

First established in the early 1960's, then registered officially as a charity in the early 1980's, Selby District Vision has been assisting local people for over 50 years.There are an estimated 2,000 people living with sight loss in the Selby District today. We are dedicated to reaching those individuals, assisting and supporting them however we can.We aim to meet the needs of visually impaired people by providing information, resources, social and recreation opportunities; promoting independence. Striving to involve the wider community in our work, we provide the public with visual awareness opportunities and have regular community fundraising events.Receiving no state funding, we rely entirely on fundraising, legacies and donations to continue our work.
