The Chinese Mental Health Association (CMHA) is a non-profit organisation which specialises in providing community mental health aid and support. Our services include counselling for those suffering from mental health issues including depression, gambling addiction, anxiety, phobia and low self-esteem. As well as counselling, we are also involved in a  range of projects which help spread mental health awareness in our mission to raise the profile of mental health issues within the Chinese community in Britain and beyond. Support us this summer for our annual British 10k London run 2013! The time has come again for us to get your running shoes on in support of CMHA! Following on from our success of the British 10k run from previous years, CMHA are looking to bring together a team of volunteers for a fun 10k run this July 2013. Last year our volunteers managed to raised £1343.53 which we were able to put to good use, funding our counselling services and other projects aimed at helping those with mental health issues within the Chinese community. This July, our target is to beat the amount raised last year with your help! Whether that's through participating in our run or making a financial contribution, we need your help to achieve our goal. If you'd like to take part in this year's British 10k London Run and represent the Chinese Mental Health Association, please contact John at [email protected]. ...................................................................................................... YTD Raised: £0.00

Hope for the African Village Child is a UK registered charity working in partnership with Hope for the Village Child Foundation in northern Nigeria. We fund HVC to work with isolated rural communities and tackle poverty through education, health care, and support for livelihoods.   Hope for the Village Child carries out a wide range of activities including the following.  Mobile clinics visit isolated villages and provide immunisations and antenatal care to mothers and babies. We train traditional birth attendants in safe delivery practices. Our community based village health worker volunteers can give life saving treatment and prevent common diseases such as malaria, diarrohea and HIV. Many children in Kaduna suffer from ricketts, our support helps these children to access surgery or calcium supplements to strengthen their bones. We help to improve education in rural areas by building and upgrading village schools and providing supplies such books and desks, alongside adult and child literacy classes, and teacher training. Our water programme provides clean drinking water through the construction of wells. We are saving the lives of young children who would otherwise suffer high rates of water borne diseases, and often die before their fifth birthday.
