YTD Raised: £0.00Bradford and Airedale Mental Health Advocacy Group (BAMHAG) are a user led mental health charity who aim to ensure peoples voices are heard within the health and social care system. BAMHAG was set up in 1989 by mental health services users who had nobody independent from services to help speak up for/with them. Since 1989 the services BAMHAG provide have grown, offering specialist mental health advocacy in a variety of settings, both community and hospital, as well as statutory advocacy services aiming to provide a voice for those detained under the Mental Health Act, and those who lack capacity. BAMHAG also provide a collective voice within strategic settings providing a link between service providers and service users and carers. BAMHAG also provide user led Befriending, as well as training volunteers to undertake advocacy and befriending.
