Masjid Ali (UK, 1139549) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Assalaamu 'alaikum dear brothers and sisters, We are a small masjid in West Bowling, Bradford, called Masjid Ali, also known as Madrassah Nur Ul Quran. We currently hold the 5 daily salah, a Quran madrassah for children (including Hifz), and an adult weekly halaqah. We have purchased an empty, derelict property that we wish to develop as part of our existing masjid, as our current building is very small. Some masjid attendees have to pray Jummah salah in the garden, and our children's classes are becoming too large to fit into the current rooms. We are appealing for sadaqah jariya and lillah towards this noble project, which will not only facilitate people praying salah, but also children learning the Quran. We are a registered charity (#1139549), regulated by the charity commission and a chartered accountant, and submit our accounts yearly. We welcome anyone who wishes to find out more about our charity and our project to freely contact us. Our target is a total of £500,000, and we have raised so far £105,000. We will still need a further £395,000. May God reward you abundantly for your contributions, and return to you the amount you have spent in the way of Allah both in this world and in the next. “Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.” (Ahmad) "Sadaqah (charity) does not decrease wealth." (Muslim) Remember, every little that you give will count as sadaqah jariya for you. A building is made by individual bricks coming together!

Kilimanjaro Marathon/Climb on 06/03/2011 Hello all.  We are planning to head to Tanzania in February in order to undertake the Kilimanjaro marathon, and, the following day, to climb Kilimanjaro itself.  The Marathon will take place on 27 February in the foothills of Africa's highest mountain.  You can read more about it at www.kilimanjaromarathon.com.  The climb will start the following day on 28 February and will take 6 days.  During the climbing phase, we will attempt the steepest non-technical route to the summit, which stands at 5,895 metres.  Rich will be climbing in military kit, carrying 25 Kg; the weight required to pass the Army's 8 mile Combat Fitness Test (CFT).  Charlotte will be climbing in civilian attire.  The two events will be a significant test of cardiovascular fitness and stamina, in hot conditions and at high altitude. Once we are in country we will upload photos and post updates to keep you all appraised of our progress.  Thank you all for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.  We will be dividing the money raised between 'Help for Heroes' and 'H.O.P.E.', a local MS therapy centre in Pembrokeshire which Rich's uncle attends.  All donations, however big or small, will be greatly appreciated.  Please give whatever you can to help us reach our £4000 target.  Rich and Charlotte

The Parochial Church Council Of The Ecclesiastical Parish Of Mortlake With East Sheen. (UK, 1132303) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

It was 150 years ago that Christ Church was built, and since 1863 the church has been at the heart of this community. In that time East Sheen has grown into a busy and thriving community, with thousands of people now coming through the doors of Christ Church every year. To keep up with the needs of the church and local people we are planning to build a small Community Hall. The architect Purcell, known for their work on St Pauls Cathedral amongst others, have been working with us on the design, which compliments the existing Victorian architecture whilst also creating an airy and modern space. The community hall will have a glazed entrance lobby and large windows. There will be a sliding partition between the entrance lobby and the community hall to provide flexibility of either two separate spaces or one larger space. Additional toilet facilities will enable both the existing and new rooms to be self-contained allowing use of both areas independently. The kitchen will be relocated central to both the new and existing areas. There will also be increased storage facilities. Please support this community project, which will serve the needs of the Church and local people, by donating. Christ Church is one of three churches in the Parish of Mortlake with East Sheen. The other two are St Mary the Virgin, Mortlake and All Saints, East Sheen.

Enfants Du Monde Uk (UK, 1111296) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

Enfants du Monde UK is a registered Charity (n:1111296). It was first started in 2005 as Enfants du Mekong UK. Since its launch, it raised more than £200.000, sponsored 50 kids to go to school and build 5 schools around Cambodia. After 7 years caring about unprivileged children in Asia, we thought it was time to help other parts of the world and be free from the link with Enfants du Mekong or any other big charity. Our next goal is to focus on helping abandoned children in Madagascar, one of the poorest countries in the world. We will dedicate our funds to small local charities with direct access to the manager. To help us witness the money is well spent, we will get the help of a french expat living in the country who is not directly involved in one of the charities we help. She or he will then be our eyes and ears on site, available for random checks.
