YTD Raised: £0.00ALRA (The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts ) is recognised in the acting industry for producing highly professional actors who are passionate about their craft, and although we teach all aspects of live and recorded performance we are known for offering an exemplary training in screen acting. ALRA is an established member of the Conference of Drama Schools and it is our policy to nurture the students' strengths and individual qualities. The main source of funding for ALRA students is the Dance and Drama Award. These grants dramatically reduce tuition fees but are only available to 60% of the students. Those not in receipt of a DaDa are expected to find their tuition fees and living expenses independently, which can often make the course unaffordable. Another financial difficulty is that none of our students is eligible for student loans. As a result, most work at weekends and during holidays in an attempt to supplement their income. As it is extremely difficult to meet the costs of living in London they inevitably resort to taking out substantial bank loans. Financial pressure is an unwelcome distraction which causes students' work to suffer. You can help ALRA students to fulfil their dreams by making a donation today!
