YTD Raised: n/a

The Freemen of Durham City with its tradition and values, historically provided benevolence to those within the community of Durham who fell on hard times. During the 20th century with the introduction of social change the support of the Freemen became largely redundant. The Charitable Trust was established in January 2015, initially to reinstate and formalise elements of Freemen’s traditional values and particularly for those more vulnerable in our community whose work is negatively impacted by the current economic climate. Since the Charitable Trust was established it has supported by donation to over 30 vulnerable groups and worthy causes within Durham: • Downs Syndrome North East. • Solan Connor Fawcett Cancer Trust. • Tin-Arts: Supports young people with learning difficulties through dance. • Durham County Stroke Club. • St Margaret’s Centre: Provides activities and training for adults requiring support with their mental Wellbeing. • LionMouth Rural Centre: Promotes wellbeing of the vulnerable in our community through the provision of meaningful, practical and creative activities. • Durham Area Disability Leisure Group: Provides support for disabled children and their families. Your donations will ensure the work of the Charitable Trust continues to support those most vulnerable within the Durham Community.

Every child deserves a future (UK, 1199316) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

We are children in deprived communities with digital literacy skills by equipping their schools with computers and library facilities. This will improve the quality of their learning and give them a chance for greater opportunities in their society and globally. For a lot of children that come from families struggling with extreme poverty it makes a lot of difference when they have their school fees paid, lunch packaged, and school supplies given to them during school hours. This foundation was formed on the 1st of January 2019 and has already begun to support children in Nigeria. Our Vision at Friends of Ronzl’s Foundation is to invest in the education and welfare of underserved children to keep the hope of a brighter future alive. We have 21 libraries set up with 300 children's books, computer classes in 10 schools, we organize inter-school competitions, interactions quiz competitions, donations of uniforms, scholarships and food programs amongst others We plan to continue to improve and impact the education of the children in the schools we currently support and more schools in the locality in the future With your donations, it will help us to be able to achieve this goal

TeenTech (UK, 1182557) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

The TeenTech Charity reaches thousands of young people across the UK, helping them understand exciting opportunities in science, technology and engineering and most importantly, their own potential to shine in those areas. We work with young people from the age of 8-19, with a focus on those whose life choices may be limited, whether through gender, ethnicity, social background, differently abled, special needs. Our lively, highly interactive programmes change their perceptions and generate deep enthusiasm for learning. We have a strong reputation for building effective, long lasting relationships between schools and local, national and global organisations, especially for students whose backgrounds mean they lack a network of contacts or informed parental support. Our students become powerful role models in their school and wider community. Our impact is long lasting, schools report more students choosing STEM subjects (one reported a 300% increase over 5 years, another in Physics from 43% to 87.5%) and the teachers are better placed to provide context for learning after we have finished the project. Parents and teachers describe TeenTech as “everything education should be from inspiring children to act on real life issues, letting them respond and build independently and then listening to their ideas and discussing their inventions.

YTD Raised: £0.00

The Guatemalan Families Association (GFA) is a charity for families living in Britain who have adopted or are in the process of adopting children from Guatemala. Our primary goal is to support internationally adopted Guatemalan children to connect with their Guatemalan roots. We also support two Guatemalan NGO's. The history of violence against indigenous populations, natural disasters, poverty, and illiteracy can best be dealt with in partnership with Guatemalans. Behrhorst projects promote self-sufficiency, foster community development, and enhance the education and health of people working to make a better life for their children and communities. Pueblo a Pueblo projects respond to the devastating poverty and deprivation in targeted indigenous villages. Projects work to build the community’s ability to thrive on its own while achieving health, food security, and education for local families. Many GFA families have visited the villages where these two charities are working. They have seen the difference our contributions make. Together, we will make the struggle to survive and be productive a little easier. Charity No: 1105241 Find out more Website http://www.gfa-uk.org/drupal/
