Working with plants, seeing things grow, and getting out into the fresh air gives the chance of regular physical exercise, stimulation of the senses, and improves well-being. Joining in with other people and sharing a common interest can build sociability, and reduce loneliness for people living in isolation. In 2013, the charity received a Queen's Award for Voluntary Service for its exemplary contribution to improving the lives of people with complex needs.
