Third Hope has been established to respond to the injustice of child soldiers and the use of children in any capacity in warfare. Our aim is to build and resource rehabilitation centres for these children, starting in northern Uganda where the situation is most acute.
The network was set up to provide support and education to children and young people with a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes and their families. This support is provided through the delivery of adventure camps and family focused diabetes education sessions.
WNSMK provides supervised overnight accommodation to homeless and vulnerable people who would otherwise be rough sleeping during the extreme winter months between early December and and mid-March each year. It works in partnership with several Milton Keynes churches that provide their facilities free of charge. A large team of volunteers from across the city come together to cook nutritious meals and provide a friendly safe environment each evening.
Harbour Place (HP) is a day centre that works directly with clients who are predominantly homeless and subject to social exclusion or isolation. HP has year-on-year built on its reputation and services to thevulnerable and disadvantaged adults of North East Lincolnshire (NEL). The client base includes people who are: unemployed; ex-offenders; the elderly; orhave learning disabilities; substance issues; mental health and general health problems. Many individuals who visit HP fit into a combination of thesecategories and are also subject to forms of discrimination and prejudice resulting from labelling and stigmatisation in the wider community. The non-judgemental approach of HP works to combat these issues to give them a better quality of life. Our service now includes Street Outreach.
MCR Pathways is a Scottish, school based mentoring programme supporting those in or on the edges of the care-system to realise their full potential through education. MCR Pathways works in all Glasgow’s secondary schools and in schools in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Edinburgh, North Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire. The programme supports almost 2,000 young people each week. Our vision is that every care-experienced and disadvantaged young person in Scotland gets the same education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances as every other young person. MCR is growing nationally with support and commitment from both Local and National Government.
Stepping Stones DS helps families navigate the journey from birth to adulthood, helping young people with Down syndrome (birth to 24 years) to fulfil their potential. We support children and young people with Down Syndrome and their families in North Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey.
