ChildVision (IE, CHY00817) Browse events

YTD Raised: €14,233.90

ChildVision is the ONLY school in Ireland for the education and training of blind and vision impaired children. We have been providing education and training at our campus in Drumcondra, Dublin since 1859 and in 2009 we celebrated our 150th Anniversary. Our students range in age from birth through to young adulthood. Some have additional learning and/or physical disabilities. Students attending the school come from all parts of Ireland and for those who due to geographical location cannot attend each week we offer an outreach service via our Family Resource Centre. Through an annual Calendar of events it offers training, social activities and Summer Camps at weekends and during school holidays for children, families and professionals in the field of vision impairment. Our Mobile Resource Unit, equipped with the latest in technology and aids for the visually impaired plus information leaflets etc. travels the country bringing our service to schools, hospitals and health centres. ChildVision acts as a national resource on the education and training of the blind or vision impaired child for parents, educators and healthcare professionals alike.

Gaelscoil an Chuilinn (IE, CHY12240) Browse events

YTD Raised: €3,548.19

A Chara, Bheadh muid fíor bhuíoch díot dá mbeadh tú inann aon chúnamh a thabhairt dúinn agus muid ag forbairt ár scoil nua. In 2012 we opened our prefab doors to 15 students in Dublin 15's Gaelscoil an Chuilinn. The numbers were low due to long delays in planning, funding and other unforeseeable obstacles, forcing children on our original roll to relocate to other schools. Located in Tyrrelstown, the fastest growing and most ethnically diverse area of the country, Gaelscoil an Chuilinn, anticipating the needs of the community has risen to the challenge and will move into our brand new building in 2017 after outgrowing our original prefab faster than expected. From our first public meeting proposing a Gaelscoil for Tyrrelstown in April 2008, our journey has been phenomenal. We now need your help to equip our new school building. Our biggest deficit lies in the funding for our community-centred drama facility. Drama is central to the ethos of Gaelscoil an Chuilinn as 2014 All-Ireland Drama champions. We firmly believe in the positive impact of drama on the students’ physical, emotional, social and cognitive development. We hope to invest in stage equipment lighting and seating for our new school building to facilitate this. We also hope to host work that reflects the diversity and richness of Tyrrelstown’s culture, society and history. We are working diligently to ensure that we can provide the very best for the children attending the school and would dearly appreciate your support to achieve our aim. Go raibh míle maith agat as ucht cabhrú linn, Ní neart go cur le chéile! Le dea-ghuí, Gaelscoil an Chuilinn
