Created out of the former Local Authority Music Service, NMPAT is an independent Charitable Company dedicated to preserving the heritage and breadth of the Northamptonshire Music Service. NMPAT operates 15 area Music Centres and over 30 central County Ensembles and delivers an tuition to nearly every school in the County. More than 15 000 children a year engage in an NMPAT activity. Its senior ensembles have a proud reputation for the quality of their performance and have performed at concerts and festivals throughout the Country and most of Europe. In May 2012 NMPAT was appointed the lead partner of the new Music Education Hub and will work with other local Music and Arts organisations to deliver the promises of the government's National Music Plan. We help them get back on track if things have gone wrong, try new things, build the confidence and resilience to change negative or risky behaviours, and progress to lead more fulfilling lives. This, in turn, has a beneficial effect on their communities. We set up projects and activities to encourage participation in the arts in Leicestershire. We have an experienced team who develop and deliver a wide range of creative projects and activities. Different agencies refer young people to activities at our studios or in local communities. Our work tackles local and national problems like gang culture, anti-social behaviour and unhealthy lifestyles, using creativity to give young people more positive choices in their lives. We work with MPs, police, fire service, schools, youth, health and social services, and local authorities. This gives our work a greater impact: we share ideas and resources which gives value for money for taxpayers and fewer social problems.

We principally set out to help underprivileged children achieve their aspirations through performing arts and sport. We also like to raise awareness of Organ donation and the benefits this can bring. The foundation takes its inspiration from Karis and the character and kind human being she was, it’s through her acts of giving and caring that we continue to support children in the way in which her integrity allowed. Karis was always helping and giving in life, she would light up a room with her personality. She saved 5 lives with her organs and would have been so proud others can aspire because of her, the foundation provide facility for the caring and help Karis gave in life is never forgotten. We are not a national charity our volunteers help to keep the charity sustainable and every penny we raise goes towards our foundation supporting children and young adults. Our strength is in the local and wider community with many events being held and more and more opportunity for children and youth to aspire through our foundation, we believe that the best way to get something done is to begin

The charity was set up by a Bury mum Emma Birkett, as she grew continually frustrated by the lack of services available for disabled children in the North West for her daughter. In May 2011 Emma is hoping to open a multi-sensory play learning centre for children with disabilities. This facility will have a large play area with slides, trampolines, ball pools, and a sensory room, stimulating projector lighting, tactile equipment and relaxation areas. Since 2007 Emma and her committee have been fundraising and have raised over £200,000. The premises have been found, and the lease will be signed very soon. Emma is hoping to have the site up and running by May 2011. Once the centre is open it will offer thousands of children in the North West what every able bodied person has the chance to access............A fun, safe, adapted play centre that meets their needs.

A high staff ratio ensures that the best possible start is provided to all children, including those who require extra support. The current intake of children reflects this ethos with children with a range of needs, as well as those who are more able. All the children benefit from caring, nurturing staff and volunteers as well as support from outside agencies such as speech and language therapists. Windmills Opportunity Playgroup aims to ensure that all the children leave as happy, secure and confident individuals, ready for the challenges of big school! Windmills needs to fund raise on an ongoing basis to provide the support the children need. Having begun as a pilot project in 2000, we are now a fully independent charity and part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio of Organisations. We encourage events producers to go beyond legal obligations set out in The Equality Act and implement Best Practice, providing a fair and equal service to their Deaf and disabled customers. “I started to work in partnership with Attitude is Everything because they gave me practical solutions to real challenges.” Melvin Benn, Festival Republic. We challenged the status quo with two innovative creations. The Attitude is Everything Charter of Best Practice encourages live venue promoters to publicly show their commitment to improving access. Club Attitude is held in fully accessible venues and features a mix of live performers (both disabled and non-disabled), attracting guest slots from artists including Mystery Jets, Slow Club, Foals and Art Brut and DJ sets from Ghostpoet, Alan McGee, DJ Void and Alexa Chung. Our many successes to date include working with Festival Republic on all of their UK Festivals, supporting Academy Music Group and National Arena Association venues to sign to our Charter, and using the Charter of Best Practice as an event standard for all festivals taking place on Victoria Park. Our Access Toolkit: Making Outdoor Arts Events Accessible to All was awarded the London 2012 Inspire Mark.
