We arrange outings to shows, theatres, concerts, Theme parks and also arrange for some of the Children to meet their favourite sport or pop idols. We are fundraising at the moment to buy a Holiday Home at Craig Tara in Ayr where we can send the children and their families for some much needed time away from hospital. We have made a good start and raised £8,000 so far but need help raising more funds. The new room we would like to build will be called ‘The Valley Room’ and will be a multi-use learning space but it will predominately be used for music lessons, the Breakfast and After School Club and 1:1 learning which is so important for the children. Currently music lessons and 1:1 learning can happen in far from ideal locations such as in corridors or meeting rooms. This room will also be used by the local community too during non-school time by holiday and music clubs and so it will not just benefit the School children but the wider community too. YTD Raised: £7,340.00St Giles is a Croydon maintained school for pupils aged 4-19 with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and complex speech and language difficulties. All our pupils also have profound, severe or moderate learning difficuties. We want our children to have as many opportunites as their mainstream peers and to be fully included within the community. However because of their disabilities our children often have very limited life experiences and we raise additional funds to extend the curriculum and provide enriching opportunities. This could be hiring a fleet of wheelchair accessible minibuses to take the pupils to a museum or the beach, providing specialist wheelchair accessible playground equipment or an expensive piece of IT equipment to give a child a voice. It might pay for a special theatre performance in school or help fund a residential trip for our older pupils.

We are a professional theatre company that helps people with learning disabilities become professional actors, and helps actors with learning disabilities achieve their potential. We offer ways for everyone, at every level, to get into theatre: * We make great theatre. Our productions are performed by disabled people, and are for everyone to enjoy, and they do! * In 2008 we moved into our brand new home, Mind the Gap Studios. We now have state of the art and fully accessible rehearsal, workshop and meeting spaces designed for developing new work, being creative, and learning. And we like to share it too! * We run Outreach theatre workshops are for young people with learning disabilities who want to try acting and learn drama skills (and have a lot of fun!) * We provide beginner actor training courses for people to get a qualification while they learn a range of theatre skills, from Front of House, through Acting, to Design * We help other organisations achieve equal opportunities for learning disabled people. We offer training, workshops and consultancy.
