To keep Chester Cathedral running costs over £1 million a year. The Cathedral receives no funding from the State. We raise funds through our own endeavours and through the generosity of our visitors, congregation and friends. But it is not just bricks, mortar, heating and lighting… The Cathedral plays a key role for the Christian community in Chester. It is a place of gathering, enabling large groups to celebrate, to commemorate and to worship together, for charities to promote their causes, for children to learn, a centre of musical excellence and a site of extraordinary historical significance. Your donations really will help to keep Chester Cathedral running for future generations.

Sadly too many people are prevented from accessing areas of interest and certain organisations as they need that little extra care, attention or support when it matters or they just dont fit in because of perceived preferences. This exclusion can lead to isolation and hidden talents being unrealised. We all have something to offer and through Cotton Shed Theatre Company, our inclusive values encourage everyone, regardless of age, ability or background, to access theatre and become a valued member. Contributing to ideas, direction, themes, each individual is encouraged to build their confidence and talent under the direction of professional artistic leaders. Every person is involved with acting, music, song and dance, whether they are abled bodied and full of confidence, less confident, or even a wheelchair user. Everyone is welcome. Cotton Shed Theatre Company runs inclusive theatre workshops and produces truly inclusive performances for all. Anyone, of any age, with or without additional needs can become a member and take part. We bring together the creative energy of people who would never meet together anywhere, but with us.
SSF is the largest youth drama festival in the UK. For the last ten years, we have worked with teachers to challenge the preconception that Shakespeare is difficult, dry or dull through a combination of teacher training, workshops and student performance in a local professional theatre.

Through the Charities Forum and HRH The Duke of Cambridge’s patronage of BAFTA we are raising funds to support a UK-wide series of special screenings for children with life limiting conditions and their families. These screenings are in partnership with local children’s hospices. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) supports, promotes and develops the art forms of the moving image; film, television and video games, identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the public. BAFTA ensures that the very best creative work can be accessed and appreciated by the British public. Our esteemed Awards ceremonies are high profile celebrations of our industries’ greatest achievements, but our Learning & Events programme and Heritage projects form the heart of our charity work. Reaching a diverse audience of all age groups, it offers unique access to some of the world’s most inspiring talent. On-stage events, ongoing projects and our website bafta.org/guru encourage the public to deepen their understanding of the art forms they are touched by every day and, at the same time, ensure the creative industries achieve the highest standards
