Started in 1968, Petts Wood Playgroup for Children With Special Needs provides pre-school care and education for 0-5 year olds with additional / special needs. Staffed primarily by volunteers from the local community, supported by therapists from the local authority, PWPG has been judged Outstanding in all Areas by Ofsted. On going training and qualifications enable the group to provide a safe and stimulating environment for each child and meet their individual needs, then support the families at the transition to school. No fees are charged, so the group has to raise funds to provide basic commodities and specialist equipment to maximise each childs ability to achieve their potential. Much of the equipment our pupils benefit from using is highly specialised & as a result comes at an increased cost. With the support of the donations made we are able to supplement our resources making a real difference to the learning experiences of our pupils.
