TreeSisters is a global woman’s campaign to help reforest the tropics within 10 years. We are an eco-crowd-funding campaign powered by the generosity, creativity, originality and shared responsibility of women who want to offer their gifts and abilitues towards the cause. We are actively serving the creation of a sustainable world for our children and providing a network of mutual support for all women wishing to face up to climate change. TreeSisters is where feminine empowerment and ecological restoration come together as one unified mission. Our plan is to help make it normal for everyone to give money for trees every month, to help reforest the tropics - and, it is so much more. This is as much about the empowerment of women as it is about reforestation. TreeSisters is an invitation to pitch your energies towards the creation of a world that values both women and nature as a new norm. Our two primary areas of work are: 1. to engage and empower diverse women to join, spread and amplify the movement with their own creativity, experience and courage 2. to co-create a meta-reforestation strategy with existing tree organisations to lay out a plan for how to help reforest the tropics within 10 years We are right at the beginning. Our campaign updates, will tell you where we are with it all! There are so many ways to get involved right now Please join us in spreading the word and bringing this initiative to life. Thank you.

We are achieving this through ownership in over 25,000 hectares of land with partnerships in a further 50,000 hectares. The John Muir Trust educates people about the value of wild places through the John Muir Award. It was started in 1997 to offer people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to learn about wild places. Through the four challenges of discover, explore, conserve and share and three progressive levels of involvement, it has so far helped over 50,000 people gain an appreciation of such places.

The Safe Water Trust provides Aquafilters for families and communities in developing countries to give access to clean drinking water at the point of use. Turning on a tap to have clean water is something we in developed countries take for granted, but about one sixth of the world’s population do not have ready access to clean drinking water. The majority of these people live in developing countries. The scale of the global problem is widely recognised and it is now accepted that access to water is fundamental not just to health and well-being, but also to sustainable economic development. Whilst there is a general debate about the effectiveness of getting aid to developing countries, there can be no argument about the value of people having clean water. It is a sad truth that drinking dirty water remains the biggest cause of childhood mortality. We have found that in schools where we have provided Aquafilters, there has been a reduction in pupil sickness, an increase in pupil attendance, improvement in learning achievement and also parents have reported that they are spending less money on medicines. The Safe Water Trust is a not-for-profit charitable company, keeping the manufacturing costs of Aquafilters to a minimum. Every penny we receive in donation goes directly towards providing Aquafilters where they are desperately needed. To watch our latest Appeal Video on Youtube, please click here.
The wildlife conservation charity dedicated to protecting all species and habitats in Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside. The North East’s unique variety of animals, plants and landscapes is increasingly under pressure from climate change, development on green spaces, intensive farming and pollution. There have been dramatic declines in red squirrels, water voles, barn owls and black grouse in just one generation. Northumberland Wildlife is committed to halting this decline in a number of ways. We manage over 60 local nature reserves and run projects which help threatened species. We work in partnership with companies, local authorities, communities, landowners, volunteers and other organisations to manage the landscape positively for wildlife and people. The Trust acts as the ‘voice of wildlife’ with local planners and developers. It is there to influence government policy at national level. Collectively The Wildlife Trusts lobbied the government successfully over the recently enacted Marine Bill, which will establish Marine Protected Areas around the North East coast. We educate thousands of people about nature each year, working directly with schools, running special events and clubs, and providing information. We believe the key to success is getting as many people involved in caring for their own environment, connecting local people with local places. We receive no direct government funding and rely on our supporters for much of our income. Without you we couldn’t do what we do. It’s a small price to pay for enriching our lives and ensuring that we protect what we have and pass it on to future generations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To donate to New Hauxley Vistor Centre Appeal please click on the link to the left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome - and Thank you for supporting the Marston Vale Trust and the creation of the Forest of Marston Vale! Our vision is to use trees and woodlands to transform 61 square miles between Bedford and Milton Keynes, repairing a landscape scarred by decades of clay extraction, brickmaking and landfill. We have already planted around 1 million trees and by 2030 our challenge is to plant 5 million more, to create new woods and other wild places for everyone to enjoy. By deciding to fundraise for us or by making a donation you have helped us get a little bit closer to achieving our vision - to plant new woodlands and maintain our existing ones, to provide homes for many different and rare UK species and a green space for everyone to enjoy.
