SERV Kent, which is also known as the 'Bloodrunners', is a charitable organisation that delivers blood products to the Accident and Emergency hospitals across Kent at night, weekends and bank holidays free of charge, whenever and wherever it's urgently needed. We also work with the Kent Air Ambulance, providing 'Golden Hour Blood' every night of the year to its base at Marden, and the children's hospices Demelza, and EllenorLions.
Hopes & Dreams is a voluntary registered charity, whose aim is to turn the hopes and dreams of chronically, seriously or terminally ill children into reality. Whether it's a trip to Disneyworld, a ride in a helicopter or to meet a favourite footballer, they will do all they can to make a sick child's dream come true.
In 2005 the Friends celebrated their 50th Anniversary successfully raising £47,000 during the year. It is commonly thought that the Health Service does , or should provide all that is needed for hospitals. However, a moments reflection will show that this is not possible. During the last 20 years the Friends have raised approximately £400,000 which has been used to provide facilities for the patients, their carers and staff. In addition to raising money 60 volunteers give their time providing a wide variety of services around the hospital. Thank you for supporting Brian and the Friends

The in-patients’ unit and Day Hospice aim to help patients adjust to the physical, psychological and social implications of progressive illness. Balrampur Hospital Foundation UK, Balrampur, is a charity set up to help fund the blossoming Balrampur Medical Instiute & Research Centre in India. The district of Balrampur is in the state of Uttarpradesh, in North India. It is Close to the border of Nepal. The district has a population of approxiamately 2 million. The nearest hospital with all facilities is in the state capital, Lucknow, about 150 km away. The roads are depleted and the journey is between 4-7 hours by car. For those who can afford travelling it is really an arduous journey. At the time of ill health, this would be even more terrible. Most people, however, do not have the means to make this journey. The need for this charity hospital is undoubtedly great. The Balrampur Medical Institute & Reasearch centre is young and growing. It is base on 13 acres where the 300 bed hospital is to be built. It is currently providing outpatient facilities, and the state is now providing free medicines to those who visit the hospital. This is a great step forward, but there is still so much to be done and developed. We have a long way to go.
