Age UK Bath & North East Somerset is a local, independent charity which provides support for 12,000 older people, their families and carers each year.
When you have the well-being and sometimes the life of a loved one in your hands, the responsibility can be too much to cope with alone. Unpaid Carers look after family members and friends who couldn't manage without their support because of illness, frailty, disability or substance misuse problems. Hannah who is a member of the Carers' Support Service team is also a Carer for her grandmother who has Dementia. She has taken on the challenge of running the London Marathon to help raise awareness of Carers in North East Lincolnshire. 3 in 5 of us can expect to become a Carer at some time in our lives. The Carers' Support Centre has been supporting Carers in Northern Lincolnshire for over 27 years. We are here to support Carers throughout their caring journey and beyond. At its simplest, the support we provide gives Carers information and knowledge to help them be independent and take control of their lives. The right information at the right time can be life changing. Stress, depression, loneliness, isolation, are just some experience Carers go through as a result of being a Carer. Over 80% say they experience poor mental and physical health and well-being. We ensure we understand an individual Carers situation so that we can provide specific support to meet their needs. The support we provide is completely free. “The Carers Centre kept me going through my darkest moments. I used to go into the centre in tears and when I left I felt the sun was shining and I felt more hopeful" "The Carers' Support Centre really helped me to accept myself and look at things differently. I am coping better now and feel I have been given the tools to cope. I feel stronger in myself. Your support has been a great help" There are over 7 million Carers in the UK, together saving the UK economy £129 billion every year! Carers selflessly put the needs of other before their own. They are an unsung army of ordinary people who provide more than three quarters of care in the community. We work tirelessly to ensure Carers know that support is available and that they are not alone.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Sheffield Health & Social Care Charity helps to improve the experience of local service users, their families and carers within the Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust. We fund improvements to mental health and social care services to provide a level of care beyond that which NHS funding alone can deliver and that enables people using these services to maintain their independence in daily life. From supporting individuals with learning disabilities, through to helping people with depression and anxiety, or helping older adults coping with dementia, the Charity continues to make a real difference to people throughout the Sheffield area.

Our aim is to help all those families in our area who are having to cope with the impact of dementia on their lives - to offer them the practical and emotional support which can make "living with dementia" a better place than when they were "on their own" - to show that that their community cares and wants to support them in their difficulties - and that there are those around them that have "been there" and understand the problems and emotions that they are going through.
Neutral Ground offers a safe, enjoyable place for parents and children who live apart to spend time together. It is neutral, friendly and confidential. It is not intended as a permanent arrangement but a way to help families to go on and make their own arrangements for contact. Our work is centred on improving the emotional security and development of the children. As well as promoting positive relationships between parent and child, we help parents to focus on the needs of the children and reach independent, constructive ways to see them.
Our core work is delivering courses and workshops in parenting skills to parents and professionals. Our courses are informal, practical and participative. We encourage parents to recognise and celebrate their skills, as well as developing new strategies for the future.
