Age Concern Central Lancashires Community Support and Information team have been applauded after it was revealed that their work has resulted in over £1 million of extra benefits being claimed by local older people. Matthew Tomlinson, Transitional Care Team Officer said, "The teams staff and volunteers are trained to give benefits advice which is specifically aimed at older people. We can give this advice either in the persons home or at our offices in Preston. It is thanks to the staffs hard work and expertise that we can show that, in the last year, we helped older people across Central Lancashire access over £1million pounds in extra benefit payments."
